We thought Xerath wasn't OP as none of us have ever played against a good one in SoloQ (we range from 1400 - 1650 ELO) or 5v5 arranged. I still think it is more a testament to Chauster's skill as well rather than the champion being overly strong. I'd be interested in seeing him use it against better teams in this tournament. As for Graves, the hope was that they would first pick something else (leaving Graves for us as we wanted him). Going into it, we knew we would be the underdog, so we risked it, despite the small odds. On November 06 2011 04:28 overt wrote: So uh, PHD first picks Sona? Wtf. We didn't quite know what to first pick and nothing we wanted was something they would take. It also likely has to do with some confusion as to what we want to run at first - we have only been a full team since Monday. This tournament was mostly for the experience at this point. PS: PVP.net chat doesn't work for me on tournament realm. At all. Even after restarting my computer. ![]()

I just thought the Sona pick looked weird but it's cool that you explained it. I guess playing CLG is pretty good experience for a new team, huh? ![]()

Seems like once people got used to his kit and realized what he does and doesn't need in items, as well as the best way to abuse his kit, they're making the most out of his range and we might end up seeing him turn into some kind of orianna 2.0? Thing is, he still feels super-counterable. Morgana's spellshield just shits on him ("oh thats the stun particle. I guess i'll shield now. Well I was late on that shield but that's ok because it's the followup spell that stuns!") among other things. He looked 100% broken from the first time they talked about him. Powerful laning, powerful poking, powerful burst, free resistance, WHAT does Xerath has that is bad.

Not that it matters cuz everything else is so much ahead of the curve.

Not that any of that matters for a long range caster.

Akali might've been good against xerath but not even 3 dashes can keep up with Xeraths retarded 50% movespeed buff. Honestly, Leblanc (and talon before xerath gets dcap) are the only assassins that could "counter" xerath, otherwise there is no way to win fights when that fucker is alive. However, I also think that Xerath has a high skill cap because before your unkillable at high levels due to passive + constant 50% speed from siege being low cd, you're terribly vulnerable to a lot of things.

Xerath is going to be unstoppable with neo cleanse. He dosnt need ignite anyway, and cleanse flash is going to be able to keep him alive the whole time.

Like Brand, like Cassio, like Khart, like Kennen. And you know what ? This doesn't change anything. His stun is braindead easy to place with the ult, and in teamfights his Q is enough to stun. On November 06 2011 05:23 spinesheath wrote: He lacks sustain, escapes and real survivabilty. Not that any of that matters for a long range caster. Very few casters have sustain without catalyst, and he HAS a speed buff + a quite easy to place stun when somebody is running at you. If you don't push a lot and do not hug the brushes, you basically are ungankable. I've cried on Xerath since his release day and will continue to do so. Edit : not to mention his retarded poking with Rylai... Once you have it, E -> Q is incredibly easy to place.

Kassadin destroys him. Also Akali definitely keeps up with him just fine, speed buff and all, even before she finishes her rlyai's or gunblade. You're way overestimating his passive, it's non negligible amounts of armor, but it's not like carries don't shred through that just fine(they do afterall kill tanks for a living).

The WORST thing about him is that his cc is conditional. Really?

Yeaaaaaaaah seeing it this way... XD But you said it was bad. It's not even BAD, it's just not ultra easy. He is not lacking in any zone, I don't see how people might have thought he was not perma-ban status from the day he was released.
