IIRC Nocturne ulti does block portrait-casting of Shen ultimate. At the very least, it was the case when I tested this when he came out. | ||

Her shroud is not a problem at all imo because so many champs have AoEs and skillshots to hit her. If you're playing a skillshot champ fire your shit as soon as she shrouds as you'll have a pretty good idea where she is in the shroud and have a good chance of hitting her. Throwing an AoE down is just as good. I think I've killed Akali more often when she's in shroud than when she isn't because so many (bad) Akalis think that shroud will save them. | ||

The reason spellvamp is a stupid and broken mechanic is because spells, on average, do MUCH more damage than autoattacks and the vast majority of them do a ton of damage in a very small window of time, whereas autos do more sustained damage. What this means is that 25% spellvamp offers a shitton more healing in small windows than 25% lifesteal in the same window. This becomes really problematic when you play assassins because assassins have repeatable bursts. This burst isn't as insane as burst casters such as Annie who can one-combo for over 1.5k with items, but Akali can repeatedly burst for combos of 600-800 damage every three seconds. With Gunblade, that's a 150-200 hp heal every three seconds. That's basically the rate at which Innervating Locket healed. You can't compare this to lifesteal cause no way in hell is an autoattacking champ going to be attacking for 600-800 damage every second. The only dudes that can do that are a super farmed Yi (who'll blow up instantly) or a Tryndamere. This is also not to mention that it's far far easier to itemize for large amounts of spellvamp than lifesteal. The largest single-source lifesteal is either a fully stacked BT at 25% or a gunblade at 20%. For spellvamp, you have 25% from WotA or 25% from Gunblade. Imo, just nerf spellvamp on Gunblade and WotA from 25% to 20%. | ||

Wouldn't cloth 5 pot + flat armor yellows + 10 armor from W + Q's and autoattacks while you're spinning make this a bad trade for Garen? Whoever is laning against Garen without cloth 5 pot armor yellows is super brave imoimoimo | ||

Good question, not something I have looked at when it happens. Usually thinking who is getting ganked and going to help if possible. I use portrait casting a lot when on Zilean. Which is not a problem since you can always see your teammates. Will have to test it. | ||

Seriously, the item has offense, defense and utility (long range, heavy slow) and there are very few champions in the game who it doesn't benefit to have it on. It either needs to be completely redesigned, or go the way of Innervating Locket. | ||

There's a reason that it's a really small subset of characters who build it. | ||

Kat is pretty situational. I can't think of any other champs that are super good who commonly build Gunblade. I personally think that something should be done to Gunblade, idk if it should be removed or just have some of its numbers nerfed. Personally I'd rather nerf Gunblade than nerf Akali. | ||

In a similar vein, I have a bit of a question: why do all these Ezreal's go Trinity Force first or extremely early? It's an expensive as hell item even with the 150% extra damage on cast. Sheen's proc gives almost as much and it costs 1/3 as much, and you can get a Gunblade for cheaper than a Trinity Force and it gives more attack damage, ability power, and life steal/spell vamp. Am I crazy? I feel like Trinity Force should be close to the last item you get as Ezreal, the extras it gives over Sheen are not that impressive for the cost. I got called a troll for arguing Trinity Force is not that impressive on Ezreal early game in a real game, and watching IPL I see all these super early Triforces and Ezreal doesn't seem to be doing an awful lot. | ||
