lol what elo are you? im definitely beating up people that dont know what to do vs me. im around 1290 (1540 season 1) im going dorans mercs brutalizer BT mallet. in lane pre-6, playing her like pantheon essentially. ignite flash. really strong level 6, since range gets increased, it's easier to land stun when you have ult up. and it's easy to burst them down far enough to finish them off with active ult, which has a huge range. level up W | ||

First game I get insta lock kat when other teams first pick was leona. And then last pick we needed support and we get a jarv. Could be worse but I really hate being top pick knowing that I am a scrub I scares me of those under me. | ||

Note: I suck at this game. Riven just feels too damn derp in teamfights. If the intention was for her to feel like playing a fighter, it both succeeds and fails. I think her passive, while not great, is perfectly fine. Her Q is fairly well designed and I have no complaints there. That being said, let’s go down to business. The main problem with Riven is that there is just no incentive to autoattack. Why would I autoattack when I can run around flipping like a fucking waffle? Sure, there are the “3 charges” from the passive, but she plays like Renekton and Garen in this sense of being a melee CD based champion. Garen rarely autoattacks as he’s too busy pressing Q and E, and Renekton just QWE facerolls. Compared to Yi, who has an insane attack steroid and damage boost, or Tryndamere, who has two insane damage boosts and Undying Rage, there’s virtually no “oomph” to going melee. I have higher DPS going speedakaiser. Next: W: The problem with W is not its implementation but how dependent it is on the ultimate for it to be of any use. Its non-ultimate range is too damn short and the stun is barely noticeable. I think this can be fixed by allowing W to cancel longer animations, such as Q. Fighting games, a significant amount of the time, uses animation cancelling as a way of getting off more combos. I think by having W as an animation canceller, it can help to channel the “fighting game” experience, and also make landing it or using Q as a weird escape easier. As it is, W does not cancel animations from E and Q and neatly as I would like. They should also make any ability/attack cancellable into W. E: First off, I hate the whole fucking shield mechanic that Riot has been forcefeeding us with people like Rumble and Skarner and so on. So I’m not a terrible fan of it on this ability. Secondly, shields are fucking boring. I really hate shields. That said I like the idea of a short repositioning dash, and a way to let her be more effective as an actually melee DPS (and not a melee caster) is to give her E super armor. Super Armor meaning invulnerability to hitstuns and shit. So yes, give her a very short period in her dash where she is immune to CC. Like, “vulnerable----super armor----vulnerable.” Lower the ratio on her shield to make up for this. R: I like the whole damage and range boost, except suddenly you now have Renekton 2.0, minus the tankiness and with half the dash distance. And the ultimate active is a fucking carrion swarm. Let’s mix it up a bit. Keep the damage and range boost, but change the active from some weird aoe execute into something more sword related. Like a friggin narrow, linear sword cut that strikes several times, about the size of Jarvan’s Dragon Strike. Get her to raise her sword in the air, have it suddenly glow to twice its size, and then she swings it into the ground in front of her, striking all targets in the line 2/3/4 times (with on-hit effects, or at least her passive). Will it be hard to hit? Yes. Will it be fun? Yes. | ||
