I think the idea is that they wanted to retain cost-effectiveness, so that in the case of boots or rejuv bead starts, you can still DRing/DBlade stack on champs that did so before.

o Ability power ratio reduced to 0.9 from 1

o Armor buff increased to 20/35/50/65/80 from 15/20/25/30/35
Buff to soraka. Not a nerf, a buff. 80+ armor messes with timings a lot. For a tank to have +80 armor at a stage when soraka is lvl 9 is huge. It makes them immune to any physical dmg especially if they've gotten something like sunfires, and lets them tank tons of dmg. Screw Magic damage, because just one sunfires lets you tank a lot of magic damage hits before ap hits higher scales. So now, you have an invincible tank with soraka just wrecking 1v2/3/4 and shutting them out in fights. Even worse, if they've gotten faster scaling with kills. Yes, even 4 seconds of that shit is huge. Etc, etc, tanks just got a free armor item in a spell. This is bigger than you think around the mid game stage before late game.

nunu has incredible ap ratios (aka, you can only have deathcap and do amazing damage for the whole fucking game) and an amazing asp steroid that he can offer to augment his dps. When i'm playing with a nunu that i know, i skip zeal and go lw before pdancer just because i know i have that massive aspeed buff. And thats not even to mention his stupid good chasing power and his innate ability (his ult) to protect his ranged dps (if you ult right next to your squishy, who the fuck is going to go for them, regardless of how much damage you do)

So what are peoples' thoughts on Wriggles vs. Doran stacking after the patch?
Cost-effectiveness numbers have always been close, but slightly in favor of Doran's, plus you were always gonna start with a Doran's anyway. But with Cloth+5pot possibly being a better start now, does that 300g sunk cost push things in favor of getting Wriggles over Doran stacking?

nunu shouldn't get enough farm to get a deathcap + any survivability so either he's a glass cannon support hero with a pretty good steroid that actually looks less good when you see that a lot of ranged carries have their own AS steroid, or he's a tanky champ that does no damage that has a pretty good steroid that looks less good when you see that a lot of ranged carries have their own AS steroid

i agree 100%
i think doran's shield gives you soooo much of "what you need" in lane that in any matchup of doran's shield v any other opening, d-shield champ is going to be able to boss around the other one so hard

I've never used mp5 runes, so it's like all my champions just got buffed! Also, I haven't seen that many kat players, but she seemed really powerful after her last buff. She's more likely to be the secret OP than cassiopeia
I love the cloth+5pot on melee champs. the 300g isn't sunk unless you plan on selling it again (for some reason). Ranged champ openings got a little more complicated, but I'm thinking boots+3pots is gonna be an ideal mix of survivability/harass

Holy guacamole Renekton buffs. I only played him once but I'll play him some more now since he's gonna be so gud. And yeah Soraka gives so much armour now lol. And passive magic resist. Really interested to see what the standard openings evolve into over the next week.
And morde's got like 3 slight buffs the last patchs I think he'll be pretty good.
