It's not just bads though, I mean Shaco was ban status in high ranked 5s beginning season 1(not 100% ban, but exremely common), and the very early response on Leblanc even from 'names' was not favorable from a balance standpoint. Her lane dominance was completely unquestionable, just like Shaco's jungle/map dominance, the tweaks will 'hurt' her but not to the point that she's useless; she'll still completely rape anyone that makes some slight positioning mistakes, but now playing her will require decision making yourself because you actually have to manage your mana+ult cooldown.

i actually just played her, she barely feels any different (granted i played in a sidelane)

i ran mp5pl seals + dring and had no mana issues. The burst was a tad less than i was used to. The only thing i find amusing was that i felt the entire game like my jump had higher cd or something, but according to those notes, that didnt happen... lol

We will be carefully monitoring the impact of these changes.

You mean she's going to have to itemize for mana like any other mage in the game instead of spamming Q from 750 range whenever it's up without thought and without any ability for opponent to punish? And now Q+R can only nuke for 60% of her opponent's health every 40 seconds instead of 80% every 30?

...man, that's a shame. No wonder Hotshot stayed up with the flu and sounding like he was dead just because he wanted to use LeBlanc before she was hotfixed, because these changes destroyed her.

The problem is that "any other mage in the game" (or at least the ones that are any good) have a much more dominant teamfight presence because of their strong CC. LeBlanc shits on people in lane, but from what I've seen, her teamfight presence is extremely small. She gets off 2 silences and a slow, and the snare usually doesn't even trigger because she's eaten some CC so the measly 25% slow lets her snare target get away.

Some of those nerfs were needed, but all of it together is unnecessary. Granted, I would rather have a champ that's too weak than one that's too strong.

I agree that she's not very useful in a teamfight, but I don't think the nerfs made it worse. And I don't agree that because she's not good in teamfights she should be allowed to faceroll people in lane to make up for it. I think she's still going to be a strong laner; I think it'd be fair if she got buffed AP ratios to help her late game, because that doesn't even affect the fact she was destroying people with just a Doran's Ring. But the nerfs were pretty necessary considering how she had an absurd laning phase which would just completely destroy any character in the game.

hmm well comparing leblanc to a good 1v1 harass mage who has really good burst and diving ability at lvl 6, vlad, yea maybe there is a precedent for mana not being an issue

and what's the point of your second paragraph? are you arguing against yourself? i dont get it. if leblanc goes from overpowered to balanced, then there's no reason to play her so much before the nerf. just play her after the nerf and you're still playing a fun, new balanced champion. if leblanc goes from overpowered to underpowered, then it makes sense to play her as much as possible before the nerf because soon there won't be any point to playing her at all. so are you saying she's underpowered now or balanced?

i'd still take poppy for that role. poppy can take a 2v2 lane and assassinate an opponent who took a solo and poppy will still have a good amount of damage to dish out after assassinating one. leblanc R on cooldown = blah burst. her burst is more susceptible to being interrupted. poppy can be stopped only by the person who she ulted and poppy can initiate. leblanc running past tanks to get to the squishy to do her burst? haha.

Well at this point, her single-target burst is less than Annie and Anivia, and they can both stun/AoE damage several people, with Annie having Tibbers leftover to chase/push/towerdive, while Anivia can keep up Glacial Storm debuff and still have her wall in reserve for extra utility.

I'm saying she's balanced now in the laning phase. I was just using an example of a top player going "Holy crap, this character is so absurdly powerful that I better abuse her while I can because imbalance like this isn't going to last long!" It's like pre-nerf Xin Zhao. You don't get too many opportunities to just completely destroy people without effort to the point people make repeated comments in all chat about "How is that even possible?"

Also I've played a ton of Vlad and comparing LeBlanc level 6 to Vlad level 6 is a joke. LeBlanc is like God Mode Vlad because her Q had 200 more range, did more damage, and had lower cooldown until Vlad is level 7. LeBlanc's ult did more damage as well and her flash is on half the cooldown.

Good points, just he was bringing up Vlad's 1v1 burst and diving ability and that's why I only mentioned the level 6 comparison. Vlad's infinitely better after laning phase. But LeBlanc was and still is a much stronger laner and I don't think it's even fair to compare.

Edit: Though that's more an argument that LeBlanc needs better buffs for her late game because nerf or not "Have 20 Mejai's stacks" should not be the basis for usefulness.

The nerfs don't seem all that crazy much of her burst is left the same. Ulti cd will hurt but it was a needed change.

I'm SO happy that leblanc got nerfed to shit! I just bought her and I really love her playstyle but would hate it if she was overused / considered OP. It's great she'll get nerfed so that I can actually use her. She's such a skill-based and potent champion with infinite possibilities.


She never was OP, though. She farms like shit, she's nothing but single-target, bad in teamfights and incredibly squishy. However, I really don't mind, she's still my new main <3 Along with Kass.

I find LeBlanc to have a hard time in late game. I think her usefulness over the course of the game graphs a lot like Urgot: Strong early game, good mid-game, terrible late-game. The nerf to her ultimate's CD in late game will be terrible.

I hate Riot's balancing staff. Sure, they're good at smoothing out the game's rough edges. But that is not how you make a game both well balanced and interesting at the same time. By polishing things to a sheen you're getting rid of a lot of variety. You're left with a boring shiny rock with no character. Luckily the game's character is in its art style, which I enjoy. But I couldn't see taking this game very seriously. That is probably why it doesn't have a very populous pro gaming community.

Even still, I find her incredibly fun to play. Here's some stuff:
- I've had great success in snaring someone with her super long range [Q] and Rhylai's. Most people still don't realize how long the range is, and get snared/killed as a result.
- If you Zhonya's right after a [W], you'll have enough time to blink back once the invincibility wears off. Useful to disrupt or initiate a teamfight ( even more useful with rhylais as well :D )
- [W] goes over/through any wall that other dash moves can (Nidalee's pounce, Shen's [E])
- Her farming sucks. Autoattack is nice for laning, but after that she's limited to [W]- which doesn't kill caster minions unless your AP gain is higher than normal at a given timeframe. Her bad farming can be mitigated by doing [W] twice with a mimic... but then you're out of your mimic for a while. I only do this when there's a few waves stacked that need to be pushed.
- The tower (and enemies) are able to lock onto her as she is dashing. If she's the only target, she can't [W] into tower range, and do anything but [W] back to the starting position without getting hit by the tower. However, you can flash, [Q], then [W]. (useful to know if diving)

The proc of [Q] activates on "ability damage". Which means it can be activated by its own mimic- and part of the reason her burst is so powerful. Given this fact, can the [Q] (Sigil of Silence) be activated by any on-use item abilities? DFG/Cutlass/Revolver? Or summoner abilities? Smite/Ignite? I'll test tonight and post unless you folks know the answer or get to it before me.

Item-wise I feel she's pigeonholed into AP/survivability much like Swain. She needs survivability so she can stay relevant during team fights, and she needs AP to do any damage at all in late-game. Any deviation from items with survivability/AP will leave her lackluster. That being said, other than a manditory Majais, how are you guys building her?
