While I am both european and not high level, I will tell you how I play her: Take solo top, no exceptions. You can be even with or beat basically anyone. I level skills R>W>Q>E though many people disagree with me ;p. For runes I use Atkspeed Reds, Mspeed Quints, Armor seals and MRes Blues, masteries 0/9/21 with ghost and tele/flash. I start Doran's Blade against almost anyone ('cept Urgot, Cho and Cait.), then build another Blade, Recurve Bow, Boots (basically always Mercs) and depending on how I do either survivability, finish one of the Bow items etc. In laning you are mostly passive till 6, then you basically burst anytime your ultimate isn't on cooldown. In teamfights you want to be focusing squishies, oftentimes you might need to go from the back/side. Almost nobody here agrees with my item build and skilling order. Possibly because they think Atlanta can make better builds than me.

Skill order imo is q>e>W, with a point in w at 2 or 3 depending on how badly you need the regen. Boots+sheen, boots2+Phage, zeal&infinity, then pure tank is the way to go. You are literally unkillable if you build trinity+tank, why waste that?

if you are truly at a higher skill level than your elo answer represents, duo queueing will put you with players at a higher level, where you belong, and also eliminate one retard from your team. but if you duo queue and aren't really ~100 elo better than your elo you'll just get crushed

It really is quite funny that way. Edit: actually, caller sums up my experience pretty damn well. I just never bothered thinking that deeply about it.

At least with solo q, i have a decent chance of being 2nd or first pick, which pretty much means that you get your solo to promptly rape and win. Not to mention people will tend to listen to you more. The higher the elo the bigger the ego but the skill level is more or less the same (i.e. trash)

![]() if you can't play at least 2 ap carries, 1 ad carry, 2 junglers, and a handful of bottom lane support/tanks then you should really learn those before you become that "I DON'T JUNGLE" or "I DON'T PLY TANKER PLZ" guy in a ranked guy

If there is a high chance that your team will fail, get a solo and carry-tanky dps is easiest to achieve this with. Once you get to 1700ish you can feel reasonably comfortable (read: more than 50%) that the game won't be over by laning phase, learning different roles is a must to get any further. A good tank is a must though: knowing how to play tank is far more important, although it isnt very rewarding. Shen is an easy tank to learn, as is Rammus (when hes not banned) and Malphite. Tanky DPS is not tanking, although you may find your roles overlapping, espeically with the lack of a dedicated tank. Also learn how to play Janna. When she's not banned she's generally a free win (assuming both solos dont fail)

I played Janna for like MAYBE the 3rd time ever in ranked and absolutely destroyed any cohesion the enemy team would have otherwise had.
