I duo queued alot around 13-1500 and it only made it more difficult as the matchmaking seemed to compensate for your duo "advantage" by putting you with 3 donkeys. I have since then left him rotting on the street, he's still 1300.

Solo is the way to go imo.

That's not really true. You might decrease your chances slightly if you duo with someone that has much lower elo than you, but ultimately elo will match your skill fairly well. If you were to play with whoever as a bot lane on skype/vent I'm sure you could even tilt the odds in your favor.

I duoed with people at 1500 elo when I was 2k and it didn't drop me over a hefty amount of games. O.o

im not retarded, i played 10 games today and the last one, right after i bought some RP, was on a US server.
or, to be more specific, on a server with 200ms latency, might be the new china server as well.

I've noticed there's no Team Liquid IRC -- checked a variation of TL and LoL words/abbreviations, as well as #liquidparty -- and tons of people feel the need to talk shit as soon as we bring it up in #teamliquid, so Inschato and I have gone ahead and registered Q to #teamliquidlol. Come join-up, and please idle and try to stay semi-active until it's picked-up enough to be self-preserving

I'd like a pick-up channel outside of the in-game LiquidParty because, well, tons of people aren't very active in that channel most of the time, and I personally idle IRC at all times whereas I'm not logged-in to LoL at all times.

EDIT: actually, I'm going to create a new topic in case people want to make posts specific to the channel, and so it can actually gain some exposure.

First thing I see when I tune in. Shayuki as Yi vs Ashe/Soraka bot. His lanepartner ryze comes back, prisons Soraka.

Ult/Q/E on Soraka, she dies, they chase Ashe. Hostile Rumble teleports close to the enemy tower, Shayuki turns around, Ryze flashes out.

In an attempt to keep Rumbles second slow off the Ryze (5% hp) he moves back behind him and between rumble/ryze.

Ashe Arrows, both die, Shayuki flames Ryze for chasing.

comedy gold.

Edit: Not to mention the entire enemy team consists of IDs coming from WW2. The german side. I think hitler just killed our shayuki.

Something like Corki top + another AD like kog or teemo could work, yeah. Generally the 2 AP solos are good because AP need a lot of farm + levels and bring a lot of utility to the team (all AP solos have some form of CC, one exception being vlad who is a fucktard who gets a ton of HP simply by getting more damage) You generally need to protect the AD carry which can be hard when you have 2 with little to no CC.

Basically, EU meta is one way to play, just like US old roam style is another way, or the old tank + support bot with AP carry top and AD carry mid. Each has a different advantage and disadvantage. And people need to not be closed minded and try new things in order to find different ways to play given the current state of the game.
