So after the patch me and couple of my friends came to the conclusion that matchmaking is fucked up big time. We are constantly getting players that are completely clueless about everything. It's not even the game, knowing the mechanics, spells and heroes, it just simple logical deduction that these players are lacking.
No, you can't expect to survive with Anub if you start a fight with you burrow-charging into 5 enemies... nor you can expect for us to kill a guy if we are 3 melees and you use Heymaker on the guy to kick him over the wall... I am not a pro, sure, but I was rank 4(and probably would've reached rank 1 if I hadn't started with HL so late) before the patch, now I am around rank 10 but seriously, even if I am playing with 2-3 mates I am getting imbeciles and I don't even know how they got matched with us...
So today I've lost 7 matches in a row, 4 HL and 3 QM. After one of those QM games I had a Zeratul whisper me how my Azmodan build sucked(and it was standard Taste for Blood Azmodan build) and how I shouldn't play him again... that was a 10-11 Zeratul that couldn't hit a Cleave... A FUCKING CLEAVE, let alone his Bombs.
I've won the last game of the day on the new map, so today I am 1-7 in maps. Oh well, I've done a "play 8 games" quest at least...

I second the matchmaking thing. I just lost a game after going 40-0 because our Zeratul and KT decided to feed. Seriously, it is straight up impossible to do more. The things I witnessed over the past 30 minutes... And all of my games have been like that today.

In a potentially game-winning push, we got the core down to 15%, but were forced back.
They got spiders out, and zeratul and muradin went for the core, with the rest of us dead or retreating after a battle in mid.
Zeratul VPs the core, trapping only 1 of the 2 enemies there, forcing Muradin to enter the VP too, and consequently fail to finish the core. It was at 1%.
We then lose to the push.
Zeratul was player level 32. Muradin was rank 6 HL.
Why would matchmaking think that was a good idea?

As I said, I've gone for no healing a few times in HL (not more than 5 games) and I always won. On Dragon Shire and at least 2 games on Spiders as far as I remember.
It really puts the other team in front of so much DPS that at my level (rank 15) people have trouble dealing with it. Like people have trouble dealing with a Johanna Abathur combo or a good Illidan Abathur.

It is by no means unwinnable, I agree, but you need to draft the right DPS for that kind of thing. Kerrigan without anyone to help her is going to have a hard time - however, pair her with an Uther and she can be an absolute monster. Point being, the 2 games I played yesterday people did not draft for the no-heal line-up, they just played the heroes they wanted to without any regard to the actual draft. Looking at the replay, what allowed us to win was that I was playing KT, and the enemy team fought in minionwaves/chokes/didn't spread.

Went 3-7 in my placement matches. I have no idea how people with fairly high MMR (~3k) can make such retarded decisions in game

The most interesting thing is how always, FUCKING ALWAYS, the first three pick in HL are all assasins. Every retard wants to deal damage and thats usually the limit to their game knowledge. I don't really blame them, but how the fuck such players reach rank 20 (or even higher!!) is beyond me. I've seen a rank 15 Kael'thas pick Clairvoyant just because enemy team had Tassadar !!!

Started a new account just for the fun of it. I've been solo Q'ing as raynor for the last few days, but lately I've been getting queue times of 6+ minutes without fail

Got a placement match messed up by siege-mode (1st pick) Rehgar. Wasn't in any team fight, but decided to instead clear waves instead of contest objectives. He got called out by the entire team, but by that time it was too late. He had 20k healing vs the enemies 50k Malf.
Luckily we absolutely wrecked the next game with a Rehgar who knew his stuff. But this system has me resorting to QM more than I'd like.

Seriously, what is going on with matchmaking? I'm continuously attempting to carry rank 35+'s at rank 10 trying to get back to my pre-patch rank 3

I have really long queue times too. I don't mind the queue time if the matchmaking works well, and it doesn't right now.
But in QM I think the server is trying to pit you against mirrors if you have certain heroes. If you have Illidan they look for an Illidan, if you have Murky they look for Abathur or Murky. It seems they match you more to mirror the opposite team than to match their levels.

Interesting though that Raynor seems to have a special rule as well, when the Q times are that long. But maybe your MMR just skyrocketed and no one is in reach.

I suspect that the new Diablo 3 season is affecting matchmaking. Lots of HotS players seem to be taking a break.

But it allows you to troll the quickmatch easily. Queue as Nova on free week and you'll play against bad Novas, ensuring easy wins. Works even better with Illidan or Butcher !
Another way to troll QM is to take Illidan / Butcher (if you're good) on Abathur's free week as you're guaranted he'll be in every fu cking game.
Maybe it's indeed D3's fault because Hero League is a mess since the beginning of the season. I played 3 games today with people (ranks 20 to 35 roughly, I was rank 12) who have no clue on how to play objectives, basic map awareness... And douchebags who say "GG it's over" 2 mins in. So 3 straight losses, and me and my friend were by far the best players of the team in all 3 games. And those were large losses, no tight games.
How can a rank 23 not know how to look at the map ? Engage 1v5 ? Die in lane during objective ?

couple of real idiots; they blamed me for picking diablo. When the problem was that some other people played terribly, didn't show up to fights, and/or stupidly died before fights.
I had highest hero damage, as diablo; the kerrigan and nova were lower. what idiots.

Why is every monk in QM useless? I cheer when I see them on other teams, I despair when I see them on mine. I've seen good monks, but it feels like all the good players have stopped using him.
Literally saw a team's sole support (monk) spec into damage build, only to get killed first thing every fight because he'd charge in first against a team with me, brightwing. At least six engages in a row he'd get polymorphed and killed, then his team would engage a few secs later. This is a common story over the last three or four days.

Murky is so awesome. Just stick to him and enjoy every single kill :D
I have my highest winrate (around 70% in HL) with Murky but you CANNOT play Murky if you dont have a premade team.
And even with a full team of friends it can get weird if people start engaging in teamfights 4v5 when you agreed to not fight and let Murky make the opponent get frustrated and provoke mistakes.
If your team doesn't force you to join every single teamfight and you keep being active everywhere on the map you can do tons of stuff with Murky.
What server do you play on? I play EU. If you want to play some games we can take turns being Murky and I could give some tipps. At least I'd have a good reason to play Murky again :p

Murky is my second most played hero with over 80 games(first being Butcher with over 130 IIRC) and I am quite solid with him. Currently sitting at rank 5, it is hard to advance in HL after the patch when matchmaking is so fucked up at the moment.
The best thing about Murky is that you are space creator, you are abusing the crap out of enemy team and you are pissing them off so much that they start to overextend just to chase you, waste a ton of mana and abilities just to die while you are back in 5 seconds. I literally burst into laughter when I see opponents wasting heroic abilities to kill me.
I would go as far as saying that some aspects of Murky are quite OP.
