I don't really main Heroes in HL, although I do have preferences.
If I feel like really playing a specific hero no matter what I'll QM them.
This does ofcourse mean I don't always get to play a preferred hero but I have heroes that I like for each role and it's good experience as well.
Of course, having players that STILL pick their favorite hero and then leaving the team with no healer or tank are just bad.
Even if you are the best Nova player in the world, having a healer/tank will grant the team a much better chance at victory.
Luckily I've always had a healer and tank in HL so far but I've seen the opposite team last picking an Illidan rather than a healer and they got curbstomped for it.
Sometimes I see picks that really make me wonder if they just want to play some form of singleplayer rather than focusing on winning the game.

Legitimately good Novas can pretty much carry their teams until you get to the highest levels of competition. However, there are far more Novas who think that they are that good than who actually are that good.

I know this is a QQ/Rage thread, but to briefly lighten the mood I would like to commend the current point system - I was placed at rank 25 after an absolutely atrocious run of feeders, flamers and fuckwits in the placement matches. I'm getting 300 points per game and slowly but surely on the way back up the ladder.
EDIT: Fuck the matchmaking... SQUARED!
EDIT2: Blizzard servers dieing? Just managed to scrape a very close game because my team took turns disconnecting. No problems up until that game.

I was just in a Hero League lobby and as last pick I had to complement our team with a healer... and suddenly the overlay bugs out and I can't switch hero tabs. I've got no supports on tab 1. I quit the game to avoid this disaster (our team already had a Nova and an Abathur, so I didn't have great hopes anyway).
Now I need to play leaver quickmatches and the I get disconnected from the server with no ability to return. This is not a great sequence of events.
EDIT: What's the penalty for dropping from a leaver quickmatch?

"This is not a great sequence of events" is a pretty hilarious way of putting it. You are coping with being doomed to the leaver QM a lot better than I usually do.
EDIT: You get to play another leaver QM...
EDIT2: Just played a game with a 30 death leo who tried splitpushing the core... After the patch Leo can't penetrate the shields on the core.

you can if your Illidian goes 6:13 and the guy picking healer picks Lili instead of Malfurion

So I got another account warning. This time it was for yelling at an Azmodan for getting me killed by not "moving his dumbshit fat ass" out of the way. Not that there was anything nice about what I said, but this warrants moderation? I swear, we're raising a generation of invalids.

I think it's pretty reasonable to expect a modicum of respect and civility. I report people for things like that all the time.

Gazlowe is literally the only hero that I never want to see on my team ever again. I dislike plenty of other heroes, but Gazlowe is the only one that makes me rage as soon as I see that he's on my team.

Gotta love the player who is last pick, prepicks Raynor, then goes afk - so that when the other team picks Raynor, he gets afk pick, which turns out to be Malfurion, when we already had a support, so we proceed to lose.

Oh, a good one, happened to me yesterday. We're playing Quick Match, 4 levels ahead (yup of course they ended up 1 level ahead of us), we end up with our Core at 30 % and their at 10 %. 2 Deaths in the other team, none in mine. Temple bot.
So my Zera goes bot and trap the 3 of them in the bubble. If he walked on the temple it was GG. He does not. I'm on my way as I just finished the other temple.
3 of my team go suicide on Core instead of going temple, they were killed by the other team starting to respawn at that time.
So dumb Zera and noob Illidan (me) die on temple and with 5 dead they finish our Core. NOT ANNOYING AT ALL.
And the worst part of it: I only had people in placement in my team. They had a rank 1, a rank 7 and a rank 15. I'm rank 18 so there's a bit of a problem here. I'm not supposed to play with rank 1 guys.

Omg its the new map curse again. Everyone beelines to the objective lol. So I just pick vikings everytime I end up on that map atm !

Agreed so much. You notice that in Nova vs Nova, both do really risky stunts and then comments pop up like "how can we lose to that Nova". I don't comment on stuff like this, when all I would have to say is because no one of us took fcking spell shield and because I constantly have to B because I get hit so hard trying to save your stacks. Won that game because they focused me all the time with spellshield and stoneskin still up and rapid incubation and bolt of the storm.
As for Gazlow picks. 1 out of 10 in high level are actually not trolling. and from the ones not trolling 1/5 are really good. And then you just need a team that actually isn't biased against Gazlow and drafts for the wombo combo and that you will be 4v5 most of the time. Then you have a really good chance to win.

He can be a monster on static objectives. But I'd never pick him if I can take Zagara, Asmodan or Nazeebo.
