Am I wrong in thinking when the enemy has a lone bottom keep on Blackheart's Bay, that you should push the keep if most of your team is bottom, rather than running across most of the map because you realize, in the sudden silence, the enemy team is probably doing boss? But I suppose they legitimately whined at me for my Tyrael ulting ETC, while ignoring a far more critical mistake of theirs.

Edit: and we had all 3 keeps still.

4 - The afk/leaver: Nothing against this guy, who knows? Maybe a bomb fell on his head? Maybe its a heart attack? Power outage? Anyway, its annoying and i cannot even blame the man.

5 - The noob: Same thing. Cannot blame. Cannot hate. I can only cry he was matched with me. I can give tips very politely and hope he listens (he usually won't). Then i can pray he is not flamed and my team do not lose their will to live on and keep trying even if the noob makes our chances look grim.

To avoid overwhelming negativity, let me mention some good ones, hoping you guys fit in or try to fit in the good side.

1 - Just playing: He just... plays. He is alright. I like him.

2 - The nice guy: He will make jokes, evoke positivity, say a "good job", or "its ok". He usually makes calls too. Sadly he is near extinction.

3 - The buddy: He may not be the best guy around, but he is always there. Even when he shoudn't, "don't come buddy! nooooo!" cannot get mad. The buddy will say sorry if he does wrong, and he will follow everyone. Its like a ping bot with a soul.

4 - The carry: The one guy that actually plays the game very seriously. Usually makes good calls and does the right stuff. You are usually doing well playing as his buddy.


GREAT post. I laughed when I read your description of the demotivational guy and the boss. I've played with tons of dudes who follow their own plan regardless of what happens and then blame you when they die.

My favorite thing to do is when someone on the team starts to rage, is just AFK until they admit they suck. I will sink the ship im on just to kill the captain, it feels great

First of all. I'm not a good player. I'm starting to get the hang of it and there's 3 heroes I can play will imo. We had someone who played the barb (what's her name again? anyway) and he/she didn't help in a single team fight. He got 1 kill/takedown the whole match because he accidentally walked by and hit some dude we killed on his way to take yet another merc camp while dying twice. The rest of the team didn't play badly. We held out quite longer than we should have. I wonder if he thinks he didn't do enough camps and should do more the next time to ensure he'll win.

thats sonja for ya. Some like to focus on what their character excels at an ignore everything else.

Failed so hard, first time arthas second time spider map. Game nearing the end someone pings boss but doesn't go there while I summon the spiders. They ping again and I think it will be gone before they arrive ... Yeah other team was doing it and I decided to waveclear and lost the game for us >.< .
Haven't seen the other team go up there though and they were one person down.

I hope there are some not revealed changes for gazlowe in the near future. Or i at least hope they are working on that hero.
Currently he's the most useless hero in the entire roster. Some kind of minor turret buff. or scaling changes in abilities/base hp regen or hp scaling(per level). Any change would make the hero less gimmicky. Overall the patch is a good thing though ! Love murky can't wait to see how good he'll do in the long run lol.

Just got out of a game where the enemy team captured its second Tribute on Cursed Hollow, (we had two at the time), and pushed mid and took our fort. Two members of our team said GG, one of them said "you guys are horrible, I'm doing my own thing" and proceeded to solo lane. When the enemy team inevitably took the 3rd Tribute, the same two sat afk at base, we were only 1 1/2 levels down... I mean what's the point in even playing the game?

Games like these make me wonder how old these people are, is it an age thing? Its like some people can't comprehend the fact that they could lose at something. Have any of them played a competitive sport, ever? Imagine seeing someone act like that in a pick up game of basketball at the park.

Is it that hard to play to the end of a game even if you know your going to lose? Is it possible to lose a game without blaming half your team?

Sorry, ending old man rant.

It blows my mind that hero league players, with master skins, still don't know that they shouldn't fight in a 3 vs 5, and that leaving lanes alone is a bad idea.

I mean, lvl doesn't mean skill, but they have been playing for so long and they still don't know the very basics :/

I QQ about the weird team comps you can sometimes get solo queuing in quick match. I know it's only a quick match but still sucks automatically having a rubbish game because of dumb team comps. Sometimes your 4 melee warriors and 1 support in a team can do it versus a more normal comp! Most often it's QQ time heh.

Edit: People who excessively use the ping feature in game all game long... need strung up by some of their internal parts.

Just logged today. Why are the hero so expensive? I mean 10 bucks for a hero is kind of absurd. I mean they expect you to spend 400$ just to get full functionality out of the game? yeesh.

Also, does anyone know if we buy heros now in Beta will they carry over to release? (i.e. I wont have to buy them again)

That topic has been disscused a lot. 10 bucks is fine to me really (not to all people though), not all heroes cost that, and they decrease in price over time (anub arak used to cost 10k gold and 10 dollars last patch, now it cost 4k and like 3 dollars?). It is a problem if you want to own every hero, but for example I got 15 and there isn't really any other hero I want at the moment, and so I got 15k gold just sitting there.

But although it is fine to me, I understand why other people don't like it.

And yeah, Heroes will carry over to release :

I played a game yesterday where we our Nova, Tychus and Tyrande tried to get the top boss on Cursed Hollow. It was an ok moment to do boss, since 2 enemies were on bottom and one was dead. I was right in the middle of doing a siege camp with Gazlowe so I was a bit late to the Party. Our 5th, Nazeebo was battling the two at the bottom and we were 2 levels up, so we were in ok shape.

So the 3 super squishies are trying to get boss and are basically down to 1/3 health when a tribute spawns right next to the it. Naturally, the rest of the enemy team (muradin&tyrande with diablo a bit behind) rush tribute and catch us doing boss. We hold on with Nova killing diablo and surviving barely. The boss also died during the fight. So 3 enemies are on 40 sec death timer and 2 are still at bottom (<insert randomd deity> knows why). Nova goes for the tribute first, the boss is not even a screensize away (doesnt matter, she has 40 seconds right?). She then proceeds to walk around for a bit, getting some exp on the top lane. By then I am pinging the boss camp with about 400 apm, writing in chat that the boss is dead and she literally just has to walk over and get it (the boss is dead, long live the boss). To no avail. The enemy team revives after 40 secs. just rightclicks their way to boss and gets him

As much fun as I find Kerrigan to be in a decent team, she is frustrating as all hell to play without a decent team.
Although I main Zagara (who is fun regardless of team) I went for Kerrigan as my second hero due to her playstyle and to fill the melee assassin slot.

Whereas Zagara can stay at range and has creep vision/speed, Kerrigan risks so much jumping into a fight.
If the team is decent, Kerrigan does well and can snatch many heroes back or just outright kill them, whereas a lot of heroes usually manage to get away from Zagara.

However, if the team is bad (e.g. not working together) Kerrigan feels plain bad.
She pounces in, lands her combo and then the enemy team just focuses her down and that's that.
No escape (since she has none other than Sprint at lvl 13) and she just dies so quick.
I barely notice her Trait other than fighting creeps/bosses.

Zagara is much more forgiving as I always go the Endless Creep talent and spread half the map with creep.
This usually grants me the movement speed / health regen bonus all the way back to my fort/keep and I always creep the side alleys and bushes so I can always see an ambush coming, but as Kerrigan I just keep dying unless my team is right next to me to help me out.

So often an objective has to be completed, I ping it and no one or just one hero goes for it.
As Zagara I can still harass/engage that but Kerrigan just dies trying.
At the same time, what else am I supposed to do with her, farm creeps/mercs? :/
I had more success playing Nova than Kerrigan, which feels odd given that Kerrigan can actually help with things other than killing heroes.

Also, how damage does Thrall do exactly? Every single time I go up against him as Kerrigan he literally burns through her health with (what seems to be) 3-4 attacks. Searing attacks, landing the combo, Blood for Blood and Maelstrom all don't make a damn difference against him. He goes down to 30-50% health and then he just insta-gibs me and half the time he does the same to the allied hero next to me.

Because the train wreck of games murky left behind him when he was free to play a few weeks back is still fresh in everyone's mind. Played well he's an evil, irritating, octo-grabbing bastard.

As a side note, late afternoon / early evening seems to be a time you get all the stuff mentioned in the OP far far too often.

Why do I keep falling for the Raynor trap? Every time I think "hey you know what, I'm going to give Jimmy another chance!". And every time he's still the same boring, terrible hero. Having only 1 ability and 2 set-and-forget ultimates is just so fucking boring, having him as an introduction hero is horrible marketing for the game.

On Raynor, you know...I've always thought that Tychus was the more interesting of the two similar starcraft ranged assasins. Raynor should definitely have been developed better...I mean I think he was a vulture in the original starcraft campaign? maybe I'm wrong. His knock back instead of a sprint back is more difficult to use than Tychus's and has a harder time escaping from multiple enemies...I don't understand Raynor as the starting hero at all either.

I think the Hyperion is fine as an ultimate, but his other powers are just not near as interesting as most other options. Compare him to Valla (two skill shots, vault escape), Tychus (spray, grenade, wind up/escape), falstad (boomerang, lightning, tumble escape)...Raynor's abilities are less interesting.

Raynor is harder to engage and harder to disengage and his powers are less impactful. They should rethink his abilities on a fun sense I would think. Totally agree with you.

Ok seriously, people who AFK should have their beta access revoked, permanently.
Just lost two games in a row where both compositions were actually fine against each other but in game 1 our healer was AFK the entire time, not saying anything but not leaving either and costing us the entire game.
Game two had not one but TWO people who literally gave up after 2-3 minutes and just sat at the spawn doing nothing.
Absolutely disgusting to ruin a team game like that and there isn't even a category available in the Report function.
Again, such AFK behavior should be monitored ingame and assessed after a set amount of time + any reports.
Ban these idiots. Permanently. Please.

Had someone say "Oh no, typical first-pick valla" in hero league after I asked for any preferences with complete silence as a response (he was 5.th pick). He continued to flame me throughout the pick-phase and the start of the game. Finally silenced when we dominated the other team at second dubloon turn-in and I continued to carry the team to victory.

I'm very happy about the rest of my teammates, but why in the hell do people feel the need to be so fucking toxic as this one guy? This game would otherwise be very enjoyable!
