Travel times were overlong, item stats were weirdly allocated in a way that made the RNG far far too important, many many glitches and bugs (understandable of course) and some class design oddness (I mained druid, believe me, life was not good in vanilla). The big things that were improved in BC were the raiding structure (10/25 mans made things reasonable) and overall dungeon design in terms of gameplay, though I personally thought the vanilla dungeons had more heart to them, for all their woeful mechanical design. In general loot management and dropping was also fixed and the economy aspects of the game shored up to the point where it felt pretty solid to me and not frustrating for new players to get involved in. The first dungeons had more heart to them since they were more stories than dungeons. They didn't really have tricks for them, just a fortress or jail that actually made sense in its layout. NO dungeon has been as meaningful as the first time you go through deadmines after spending an arduous time hunting the brotherhood only to find out that they weren't just thugs--but were actually a large scale operation rebelling against tyranny through terrorism. All the pre-60 dungeons were great and when you finally did Raid where it was literally a cave with a dragon in it--it was magical. Because it didn't feel like a grind. But it was also magical because you never were a super hero. It never felt like "If you don't stop _____ then all of Azeroth will die! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!" You were simply a Warrior/Mage/Rogue/etc... living in Azeroth, doing your part to help. When it was a 40 man raid fighting Onyxia it literally felt like an army marched down to her crypt to slay the dragon. As a 10 man it feels like you're the avengers fighting galactus--and as fun as that sounds, it just makes all the post vanilla fights seem comical. A lot of fights also just boiled down to tricks. Get this buff, get this debuff, make sure you have this composition. As opposed to massive lore where you killed the end boss because the story convinced you that the end boss deserved it and so you didn't care if it was just a tank and spank. After Vanilla wow everything just felt... automated.

HoTS and MoP are both awesome. Diablo 3 was the one black sheep in the Blizzard family and it's also one they are making great strides towards improving, their removal of the AH system in it is a clear indicator of just how much they are acknowledging their own failures with that title. By the time the expansion launches Diablo 3 will be a much much better game.

Blizzard announces that at the official launch, Hearthstone will be renamed "Hearth of the Stone". Also, the D3 expansion is now "Harvester of the Souls". + Show Spoiler + This joke shamelessly stolen from a good friend.

DoTA was a mod that pitched heroes from warcraft in battle with each other, eventually it grew so big it had its own heroes independent of warcraft. This spawned copies that tried to leave the warcraft engine, HoN and LoL both had their merits but in the end, LoL which differentiated itself more grew to be more popular. DoTA hit back with DoTA2, spawning new lore due to IP issues. Now Blizzard is entering the fray with the very IP that forced DoTA to change its heroes. Now someone needs to make a warcraft mod for this to come full circle, put in Dota heroes, League champions, and Heroes of the storm for one giant brawl....

Is this thing actually serious or just a random carbot animation? (SERIOUS question, I honestly can't tell)

(SERIOUS question, I honestly can't tell) Carbot got hired to make a cute little video announcing the name change from Blizzard All-Stars to Heroes of the Storm. The game itself has been in development since 2011 at least.

Heroes of the Storm doesn't rightfully encompass all of the titles it draws from, which is sort of disappointing. Blizzard's been calling their meta stuff "of the Storm" for a very long time. Their artists are Sons of the Storm, for example. It's basically just "Heroes of Blizzard."
