Are deck tracking tools considered 'cheap' or 'cheating' or 'unethical' in hearthstone? Blizzard's official line on this is that anything that does the same as a pen and paper can do, does not break terms of service. Therefore, whether it's ethical or cheating is, essentially, a matter of personal opinion. However, the fact that you can't use any of this 3rd party software in official Hearthstone tournaments indicates to me that it's something they don't approve of, and will surely clamp down on in future. In my opinion, the fact that some tracker software tells you what cards your opponent drew in what order, what they kept in their mulligan, which cards are spare parts, which cards they discovered etc. is a MASSIVE advantage that shouldn't be allowed. I can't understand why they allow it personally.

I can't understand why they allow it personally. Considering the official stance is that it is "fine", I would say that they will surely NOT clamp down on it in the future. They are OK with it now, why would they change? I don''t know how long they've been around for but it's been a long time. We're still waiting on deck slots, things take ages. If you can't understand why they allow it, consider this. People forget this is a casual game, for casual players, that makes Blizzard lots of money. What percentage of players even know or care about something like this? Very small I imagine. The purpose of the 'competitive scene', tournaments, etc. is really just to inspire casual players to spend more money. It's like Blizzard's marketing campaign for the game. Any fun, coolness factor, etc is just a bonus for players and the fans. Allowing it is an easy decision to make that doesn't really matter. Banning it gets some percentage of players up in arms, and how exactly do you ban it? Why would you ban paying customers? Won't they just figure out a way around it? It ends up being a logistical nightmare. Seems very clear to me why the policy is as it is now. It's not a "MASSIVE" advantage at all - you can already do it with pen and paper. It doesn't let you do anything you can't already, meaning no advantage. If you were serious about playing and grinding and maxing your win percentage you could just use paper and do the exact same thing. It just makes it more convenient. Good players can do it in their head already so it doesn't matter at the top level.

I have a stormwind + arathi on the board. He plays a crazed alchemist and swaps the hp / attack of arathi. It goes from 4/4 to 5/5, why?

It goes from 4/4 to 5/5, why? It's normally a 3/3 and has a +1/+1 buff making it a 4/4. Alchemist swaps the stats, making it into a 4/4 minion that now gets the +1/+1 buff, making it a 5/5.

I mean, there used to be the option to disenchant cards and get 100% of the dust after a nerf or buff, but the last cards I can think of was Unleash The Hounds and Flare. have there really been no other cards or did I just miss it?

I was wondering if there've been any cards from packs, because of the disenchanting for 100%. The last actual balance change I remember was Soulfire, Flare and Gadgetzan with the release of GvG. If I recall correctly, the only card changes they've made since have been functional, rather than balance (e.g. Bane of Doom) and the Warsong nerf, none of which return the full dust value. I've done the same as you and saved all of my extra copies of commons and rares for the same reason. However, it seems all for nothing, as Blizzard's approach to balance in HS these days seems to be "we're always 100% correct and no card we design can ever be imbalanced, just wait until the next expansion for cards that are even worse". The fact that Challenger wasn't nerfed within 24 hours seems to me to be clear evidence of this. I'm starting to think I should just DE everything.

Well, I've been inactive in HS for nearly 9 months, just been doing quests with my old decks once in a while, but never encountered this message box that you get when a new card could be disenchanted for 100% dust. Maybe you've also been doing this because of Kripparian did it and always got so much dust. At least I've got lots of dust from Flare, UTH and Eaglehorn Bow. Now it seems pretty safe to disenchant all the crappy stuff and duplicates. I think I'll only safe very strong cards and cards that synergize with OP decks like Dr Boom, Mysterious Challenger, and perhaps those Paladin secrets cards. btw long ago I've noticed that the "Disenchant Extra Cards" button keeps golden cards. so if you have 2 Argent Squire normal 1 Argent Squire gold, it'd disenchant a normal card and keep the golden. Does anyone know if this still the same?

IIRC the 100% dust refund was only for like the week following the patch changing the card(s). If you didn't do it then it's normal dusting now.

ok now I can safely press the button and then disenchant those golden cards manually. - or maybe I can't because it might be smart to keep those cheap paladine secrets, in case they ever get changed :D

Something weird happened to me.. I was playing vs a mage, he had a 2/1 Mad Scientist on the board. I played warrior myself and used the Cruel Taskmaster battlecry to kill the Mad Scientist. This popped the deathrattle so a Mirror Entity was added to the battlefield. But it actually triggered immediately and made a copy of my Cruel Taskmaster o.O Anyone knows if this was a bug or actually meant to happen? Screens: + Show Spoiler + ![]() ![]() ![]()

I have a question about placement of Tuskarr Totemic. Do I always want to put it as far to the left as possible (in case the totem becomes Flametongue Totem)?

Do I always want to put it as far to the left as possible (in case the totem becomes Flametongue Totem)? There's no rule really, other than far right usually being pretty bad. The left is the general guideline since the totem always spawns directly to the right of the tuskarr, this way the flametongue will buff at least one minion. However far left is not always correct. You want to put it to the left of something which might enable a good trade if it were to be buffed or a taunt minion, for example. There are desirable buff targets such as nerubian egg or haunted creeper, while somewhat more valuable minions such as a knife juggler or a mana tide totem you might want to avoid buffing. Totems from your hero power spawn on the far right, so even if there are other things to the left of the tuskarr the totem should not run out of things to buff. In short, left is better than right, but think about how far left you want to put it
