This should be fun, I'm looking forward to the beta. Especially looking for something I can play on a tablet, I feel blizzard will do this right!

I think there was something during the stream but not sure if that's available anywhere. Looking at a video above this seems kinda interesting even though I have pretty much no interest in the WoW lore. Granted, there's at least a lot of stuff I know from Wc3 in there. I may check it out at least. I found the one ur looking for on youtube.link

Wait this is different from the TCG based on the WoW series that's been out? I do remember people playing a WoW-based TCG on campus, and figured this was it. Regardless, the opening trailer cinematic got me interested, and I haven't played a TCG a hella long while. Been itching to play a new one.

Very balanced and fun free card game... I am glad blizzard is stealing ideas from them because I wish Blizz stole more ideas for D3 haha. ShadowEra is exactly what I thought when I saw the game. I've played both MtG and ShadowEra, and one of the cool things about the latter is how fast paced it is, and how you put down any card face down for mana, which lets your deck be much more consistent. The only thing I didn't like is that because heroes can only use certain types of cards, and there aren't that many cards, there's really not that many deck options. In MtG you play against anything; in ShadowEra you see an enemy hero card and can predict 95% of the cards that are coming your way. Hopefully Hearthstone balances both worlds well. EDIT: Oh also - the lack of instants. I felt a lack of depth in the game, largely because you can't do anything during your opponents' turns. This speeds the game up, but it was weird to get used to.

Here are the videos of them introducing the game at Pax East I would stop watching at the duel since it's the same as the one i linked and with some loud unnecessary commentary. Although the game is basically a simplified version of the WoW TCG game from what I can tell. Unfortunately, the inability to change a thread's name leaves me in a poor position. (BTW why is that a fundamental aspect of forums? So the mods feel necessary?) Yeah I found that video and got excited. Then realized it was the exact same duel as the one I linked earlier except with some loud annoying guy talking over it. And the loud annoying guy didn't even mention anything I didn't learn from pausing/unpausing the first video to study.

Btw, yeah companies are in it for the money, get over it.

The 2 games i played were really fun and it sounds like they are going in a really good direction with the game. Did you see anything more complex than what was shown in the videos? What makes MtG interesting for me is the thousands of cards with weird card interactions or crazy combos noone ever saw coming, multiple relevant zones, resources and winning conditions, decks with some kind of engine, ... There's just a ton of stuff you have to take into consideration, giving you the opportunity to surprise or outsmart the opponent. Can Hearthstone offer the same intellectual stimulation, or is it just attacking with creatures and the occasional damage spell?

This will happen with Hearthstone if Blizzard keeps supporting the game. As more and more cards will be released the game will be more complex too. In a way this was the case with MTG too, graveyard manipulation, epic storm, landstill, academy decks etc where non existent in alpha ![]()
