I thought it was absolutely great. Easily PTA's best film yet. It was so dark, and Day-Lewis's performance was incredible. The score was amazing too, props to Greenwood. The atmosphere was amazing.
I made the mistake of seeing it with a girl who doesn't really like movies like that, all she did was fucking complain afterwards. I wanted to lean over, unlock my car door and boot her out on the highway like they do in action movies.

are these films really good, or are these the typical american oscar winning movies similar to titanic (=super bad despite 10+ oscars) or erin brokovitch (boring as hell)

i thugoht juno was a really really good movie after watching it online. Havent seen any of the others mentioned.

I watched no country for old men and Juno today. No Country for Old Men reminded me of Grapes of Wrath, just really american classicky. Great acting, etc but I just didn't get that cathartic feel at the end somehow. Juno was really cute, I thought everything was great until Juno says i love you to the guy who got her pregnant cuz that guy had like no lines in the movie so that didn't really make sense. But indie films are always great and Juno is a good one. Awesome soundtrack and clothing in the movie. Now I gotta find blood simple and away from her.

they were actually all very good =o
and ya, I was a bit surprised that Michael Cera had such a tiny role in Juno. From the previews and stuff I thought it would really be about the both of them, but he's barely in the movie at all.

jesus christ
ok i'm trying to watch juno since everyone is fucking in love with it. i'm the sort of guy who got really really excited that there's a new Rambo movie, but my favourite movie is A Clockwork Orange, so I like many many things.
I'm ten minutes through this movie and every bit of dialogue has been utterly fucking terrible. i can't believe someone wrote this and thinks its decent, i really can't. there have been like 20 puns already and NONE OF THEM ARE FUNNY
why the FUCK do people like this movie? im gonna watch the rest of it and maybe my opinion will change
also to note: in the trailers they added in a gulping sound that is NOT PRESENT IN THE MOVIE because the fucking idiots who made the trailer THOUGHT IT WOULD BE HILAAAAAAAAAAAARIOUS. NICE WORK ASSHOLES

Well I was going to ask for some genuine criticisms of Juno....but I can see Fakesteve has utterly obliterated the movie already so I'll just give up and suck his dick.

AWESOME THE MAIN CHARACTER CARRIES A PIPE AROUND BUT DOESNT SMOKE ANYTHING WITH IT
MORE SHITTY DIALOGUE!!!!!!!
|
|
Actor: Daniel Day-Lewis Supporting Actor: Philip Seymour Hoffman/Javier Bardem (can't decide) Best Actress: Ellen Page Supporting Actress: Cate Blanchett Best Picture: No Country for Old Men
So much hate Steve My friend also disliked the beginning dialogue but it does get better. Still, Juno probably doesn't deserve the best picture nomination but Ellen Page does deserve her nod.
