I just don't understand how you can be embarrassed to say you are going to vote for someonr and have to hide it in shame but still do it anyway. How do you cognitively process that and not have your brain explode.

I dunno, I don't think shy Trump effect explains these polling errors well. I mean, there's nothing shy about going to places tabulating votes and shouting "stop the count."

I'm trying to imply that facts actually matter. Does Biden actually have 270 on the board ? No. So he called a win prematurely. Except he did not call a win, he said he was confident that after all the votes will have been tallied, he would be the victor and that they liked their position in Pennsylvania. Only thing he erred a bit on was saying he flipped Arizona (note the past tense), when I feel it's tense.
Did he say he won ? He did not. And yesterday Trump said "we had won" I believe. Meaning he didn't anymore :-p

It's not a slam dunk by any means, but Trump lame ducking the shit out of everything may not win the day. I think things will get done, once it is official Reps are going to start separating themselves from him and start worrying about the next election. Some even did in the days leading up. Trump is likely only going to get wackier and more extreme which will only push those with questions further away. Thats not entirely fair. There was no good way to handle it,its a lose lose event. Though there are some governments in europe who did pretty much the same as the usa and who have held on to their popularity or even increased it. Trumps strongest point was the economy and the pandemic did counter that, the economic damage would have been there no matter how he did handle it. I think you are proving my point. Those governments in Europe showed leadership instead of, what ever it was that the Donald showed, I guess random inaccurate tweeting's, with no transparency and responses ranging from mis information to complete lies. The numbers could have ended up similar and his popularity could have grown, much like Europe, and some of the states governors. That is fell is a direct indication that more people thought he did a bad job then thought he did a good one.
Hmm yes i can see your point. Another difference is that in europe the majority of the media is generally supporting the government in their approach,at least thus far. In the usa it was much more split where specially cnn couldnt resist pointing out all the flaws in the handling of the pandemic though i am not sure how relevant that actually is as most republicans probably watch fox over cnn. In some ways the polarization backfired on trump. When it comes to the pandemic at least. If the country was less divided it would maybe have made a smaller impact.

Nevada will count their votes today, expect a Nevada result later. Biden could theoretically win the election tonight.
|
So, uh, Trump just tweeted that he is "claiming" NC, GA, and PA. Claiming PA in particular betrays a fundamental misunderstanding of how numbers work.
|
Nevada would finalize the result now yes,i wish cnn would focus a bit more on that but they are more about PA and AZ

We all know Trump has very loud vocal minority that supports him. I dont think those are the ones though that are throwing polls out of wack. This is the 35% that would still vote for him even if went and shot Obama at his house.

im pretty glad there wont be rioting though. im optimistic things will mellow down the next couple years

Let's be fair, I'm pretty sure they would vote for him harder if he went and did that

Unfortunately Nevada is being super cagey about when and how they'll disclose, and it's tough to say much beyond "the outstanding vote probably favors Biden but we need to see some numbers from Vegas to confirm." It sounds like they might actually say something tonight, though, instead of tomorrow.

Yep, something to do with how interesting the results will be and how many people want to see them so they decided to move it ahead.
