When Dr. Oz said healthy, monogamous sex can help you lose weight, viewers wrote in with lots of questions.
First, Dr. Oz wants to clear up a misconception that sex burns a lot of calories. In fact, sex only burns about 25, equal to half a slice of bread.
Instead, Dr. Oz says the real value of meaningful sex—not recreational sex—comes from the release of a hormone called oxytocin, which makes you feel community, love and empathy. "That is incredibly important because besides lowering your blood pressure, what it does is it tells your gut not to send signals to the brain to eat. So it's a wonderful tool to get you where you want to be," Dr. Oz says. Losing weight then tends to increase your sex drive, he says.
And, losing weight improves the sex lives of men in another way. "If you lose 35 pounds, if you're a male, you are gaining one inch of penis length," he says. Often when a man is carrying a lot of extra weight, Dr. Oz says a fat bundle builds up and starts to surround the shaft. As a man drops the weight, that fat starts to recede.
"I've been doing this show 21 years," Oprah says. "I always love to hear something I've never heard before, and I've never heard that before."
its all bs.. basically its like if you lose weight overall you look more toned, fit, maybe some areas of your body looks a lil longer.. here's more bs.. you all need to have sex 200 x a year.. thats like doing it every other day.. ok i should stop clicking these random links ppl send me..
Question 10: According to Dr. Oz, how often should you have sex? A) Once a week B) Twice a week C) 10 times a month D) 200 times a year or more
The correct answer is D.
"If you have more than 200 orgasms a year, you can reduce your physiologic age by six years," Dr. Oz says. He bases the number on a study done at Duke University that surveyed people on the amount and quality of sex they had. "They looked at what happened to folks that are having a lot of intercourse over time, and the fact is, it correlated."
Among the benefits of having sex often, Dr. Oz says, is that it can prove that your body is functioning as it is supposed to. "But in addition, having sex with someone that you care for deeply is one of the ways we achieve that Zen experience that we all crave as human beings," he says. "It's really a spiritual event for folks when they're with someone they love and they can consummate it with sexual activity … seems to offer some survival benefit."
I'll tell my girlfriend that for every time she doesn't have sex with me, I am literally losing years of my life. She already is genetically destined to live longer than me, so she can't refuse...
Oprah is atrocious. Worse than Tyra banks, 'coz at least Tyra isn't fat. Both are pretty terrible though.
This really doesn't make sense. Especially for those people who can't LOSE 35 pounds; if I lost 35 pounds, I'd be excessively underweight. I'm already only like 10-12% body fat ~~;;
I'm deeply in love with me and care a lot about myself, so according to this my physiologic age is steadily decreasing and I should be immortal right? OMFG great NEWS!
The weight loss from the physical activity really depends on the kind of sex you're having. If it's really er intense, while you won't be burning a whole lot during the activity itself you'll incite an effect known as EPOC (Excess post-exercise oxygen consumption) that essentially causes you to burn fat for hours after the activity.
It is for this reason that high intensity interval training (in the form of sprints and so forth) are believe to be superior for the purpose of removing subcutaneous fat.

The fact that sex burns up only half a slice of bread in terms of calories doesn't surprise me.
If you look at the basal metabolic rate of a human being over 24 hours, and then account for some one who does heavy exercise (2 hours a day), the exercise barely adds even 10% to their basal metabolic rate in terms of extra energy consumed.

idk but i like it and sex is good exercise regardless of calorie burning :X THATS why you should have sex often. That Dr Oz is a quack. I watched that episode against my will. But I've heard from MANY different sources that the more sex, the better. And not all from men.

If im not mistaken, I think men die sooner than women because testosterone is more toxic than estrogen. That and women nag too much.

Women have much more orgasms than men. MUCH more.
LOL! 200 orgasms a year. Having sex has many benefits. It's easier and more fun with somebody that you love too. Males will probably only orgasm once or twice at the most in one night. Women can orgasm much more than once in one night, however. It's not rare to get 4+ for a woman, as well. (But sex that is carelessly performed by the man could result in no orgasm too....)

women have the potential to have more orgasms because more of them are way more multi-orgasmic than men. compare a woman who orgasms multiple times every week to to men who orgasm probably an average of every day, i think it balances out.. especially since not all women can orgasm..

Women can orgasm multiple times, while men have cooldown times. Masturbation does not count as orgasm for men, since ejaculation is not technically orgasm. Men can orgasm without ejaculation. Men can also ejaculate without orgasm.

again, its how you define orgasm here. where is it that ejaculation is not technically orgasm? you're saying if a guy jerks off and ejaculates thats not orgasm?
by "men can also ejaculate without orgasm" are you talking about wet dreams that happen what like twice a month?
yes of course its better and probably more physiologically beneficial to have an orgasm with someone you love, but it's a known fact that the vast majority of men can bring themselves to orgasm, masturbatory or otherwise.
women, however, are different, in that not even every woman has had an orgasm and they don't always have an orgasm when they have sex. you really think that when a girl doesn't have an orgasm its simply because of "carelessness" by the guy? do you know anything about how much more mental and difficult it is for a female to have an orgasm than a male? they've anonymously polled females on this and its nowhere close to "every night multiple times" like you seem to imply.
why do you think there is so much talk, literature, and advice about how to get a girl off and barely anything about male? its because it's fucking harder for a girl to orgasm, there are lots of factors like mood, comfort level, and a lot of other physiological things that are specific to each girl, while every dude having an orgasm is largely the same.
every dude looking at this thinking "gee every time i fuck my gf she comes so wth..." you are deluding yourself, a lot of times she doesn't have one, you just don't know it.
and WhatIsProtoss why do you feel the need to attack someone every time you post?

i mean in general you are right about a lot of things, but its funny how you are so wrong about this
i mean the stats on multiple orgasms is like < 20% of women experience them, and a comparable number of men experience them (yes men can multiple orgasm too)

add all this up and your logic about "women=multiple orgasms and men dont" just doesn't make sense
and thats assuming you are correct about the masturbation thing, which i disagree with. i think the vast majority of the time a dude masturbates to ejaculation its an orgasm, too.
therefore, men have a lot more orgasms than women.

1. There are males who are unable to ejaculate. They are able to orgasm. Orgasm is not directly associated with ejaculation. 2. If it's more physiologically beneficial to have sex with somebody you love, it is easier to orgasm (and easier for the woman to orgasm multiple times, when performed correctly). 3. Like I already said, having sex can result in no orgasm for the woman. You repeated what I said. 4. You easily know if the woman is having an orgasm or not. No orgasm = no reaction. Orgasm = pulsation. Same thing for the man.
for #1, that is correct. but they still orgasm, and when a guy masturbates to ejaculation, the vast majority of them orgasm. so that doesn't help your case about women having more.
yes at #2, but again that doesn't happen as often as you think. even when women are having sex with their boyfriend or husband, they don't always have one. hence all the jokes about "faking it" etc. they have it fewer times than you think.
#3 is a huge point and combined with the fact that not all women have even had one orgasm in their lifetime, should easily lead you to the conclusion that men (who masturbate more frequently and have orgasms during sex more frequently) have more. again, less than 1/5 of women have multiple orgasms so that doesn't impact the statistics as much as you think.
LOL @ #4. yes for some women you can tell. but for a lot of them i am pretty sure you would have no idea if they came or not.

What stats are you talking about? Do you mind posting them? I hate it when people carelessly throw numbers out as if they were reading them from a survey article. You're actually making those percentages up.
By "carelessly performed," I mean sex where the male doesn't cater to the female's needs. Like you said, men can orgasm more easily than women (whereas women can orgasm multiple times in a setting, not men). Many times, the woman cannot really do anything "wrong" when having sex, since it usually ends up in the man having an orgasm MOST of the time. Men, on the other hand, can make mistakes in pleasuring the woman and can prevent her from reaching orgasm. Follow what the woman wants, and orgasm will follow. Simple.
ROFL, I can't believe you don't like the term, "carelessly performed" sex. In other words, "bad" sex. Lots of guys are bad at sex. You rarely hear about a woman who is bad at sex.

its in the kinsley sex survey, and on many other sources, i'd assume you'd spend 5 minutes on google before asking me.
and you said lots of guys are bad at sex, that actually supports my point. not all women are having orgasms during sex, let alone multiple ones. that is what i'm saying, men have many many more than women because of this and the fact that not all women have even had one in their lifetime.
i was laughing at your "follow what a woman wants and orgasm will follow" because it's not that simple. yes there are girls that you can make go nuts just by touching them, but there are also ones where you can do everything right two nights and one night she'll come and the other she won't.
both people being in love and orgasming frequently during sex is rarer than you think.

WiP please stop. Really, you aren't backing up anything you say with anything other than your own opinions, and then you are horribly offended and insulting when someone disagrees with you. Perhaps you should preface some of your statements with "In my (limited) experience..."
On topic, I think it is safe to say that men orgasm more than women, and male masturbation definitely counts as an orgasm (otherwise we wouldn't all take such long showers). Many many women are only able to orgasm through manual or oral stimulation, if they are able to at all, while 99.9% of men can orgasm the same way.
My presumption on why this is, is that male orgasm (and thus ejaculation) is necessary for the continuation of the human race, while the female orgasm (despite being a generous evolutionary side-effect) is not.
i am pretty sure if a girl wanted to convince you she is orgasming she can. you would not be able to tell the difference between a fake and a real one unless you had a microscope right at her genitals watching every little movement.
i mean if you don't believe me just ask your female friends if a guy or if even their boyfriend would be able to tell if they orgasm or not if they really wanted to fool them.
Maybe I just don't understand.... American sarcasm is hard to catch sometimes. Hot_Bid apparently likes to end most of what he types in response to me with "lol" or "rofl". What is that, mocking? I just like to imitate him at times.

Hot_Bid wrote: i was laughing at your "follow what a woman wants and orgasm will follow" because it's not that simple. yes there are girls that you can make go nuts just by touching them, but there are also ones where you can do everything right two nights and one night she'll come and the other she won't.

whatisprotoss your first response to my disagreeing with you was to attack whether i've had sex or not. it's interesting that you respond to someone disagreeing with you by attacking them, just as you're doing here, you respond to manifesto's post by attacking the parts of my post that offend you.
maybe if you weren't so offensive and condescending to EVERY POSTER that disagrees with you, you'd get a bit of benefit of the doubt.

I merely said that because you took the liberty to say something like, "I'm pretty sure you're 100% wrong." Which clearly is not an offensive statement?
Do you feel better now that Manifesto is siding with you? Now you can post with more confidence, huh? I actually get along with quite a number of posters here and chat with 8 or 9 of the members on instant messenger, contrary to what you think.
i am pretty sure you'd be fine with chatting with anyone as long as they didn't disagree with you about anything. yes you're great at translating and a relatively smart guy, but the simple fact that you have to say "i get along with quite a number of posters here" as if thats some sort of accomplishment should say something about your demeanor towards everyone.
and yes manifesto (or anyone for that matter) echoing what i believe is an issue with your posting would give me more confidence, it simply means that more people share the opinion that you are an asshole sometimes. i don't see what's so crazy about that.
and if you want to get back on topic, do you still think women have more orgasms than men do?
no i know you get along with people, they even are surprised at how non offensive you are on MSN or AIM or whatever. i'm sure i'd think the same thing if i ever talked to you through those channels.
i just wonder why you can't be like that all the time, and have to be like the way you are on the forums. why not just put forth an attitude that isn't so combative and condescending? it's like you're constantly angry and just use posts to take your anger out on people.
edit: i mean how should people treat you if you post like an asshole, they should just somehow know that your real personality isn't like that? obviously they're going to react and respond to what you write on the forum and how you write it, after all thats ALL they have for an impression of you.
How long can people masturbate? Well the current record is over 8 hours. Bend your gender expectations; that participant was 100% male. Winners will be awarded in as many gender categories as are appropriate. # Time Records: Female: 6 h, 30 min (Norine Dworkin, San Francisco, 2004) # Male: 8 h, 30 min (San Francisco, 2006)

Multiple orgasms aren't just for chicks. The Masturbate-a-thon record for most male orgasms is 6! In a recent survey in the United States, 43 percent of women and 31 percent of men identified themselves as having one or more sexual problems. Among women, 33 percent complained of low sexual desire, 24 percent reported inability to come to orgasm, and 14 percent stated they experience pain during sex.
For men, the most frequently reported problem was premature ejaculation, accounting for 28 percent of complaints, while 15 percent rated themselves as lacking interest in sex, 10 percent said they had problems attaining or maintaining an erection, and 3 percent had physical pain during intercourse.
Between 10 and 15 per cent of women never experience orgasms in their entire lives, and up to half of women only have them occasionally. Another survey reveals that 58 per cent of women fake orgasm during intercourse anyway, and there are other statistics that show that only 30 per cent have orgasms during intercourse.

My presumption on why this is, is that male orgasm (and thus ejaculation) is necessary for the continuation of the human race, while the female orgasm (despite being a generous evolutionary side-effect) is not.
i think it's because men are in control of their penis and thus can do it how they like it, so they're far more likely to cum, whereas women just lie there and take that heat. i mean, the women on fuckingmachines.com seem pretty damn happy

This is just so rediculous. Having sex is a very hardcore workout using pretty much whole of your body, along side with a huge waste of my protein, how the hell can all this be 25cal.

or maybe its because people who look younger and more attractive just have sex more...

It is socially acceptable for men to do a lot more things than women. No wonder there's female rights groups everywhere.

I'd say that only compounds my arguement! The point is men jerk off more than women rub the love lips. That translates to MORE orgasms.
Additionally, it is common for men to have more sexual partners in their life than women. Hence men have MORE sex because they are with MORE people whereas it is more common for women to have fewer partners they have sex with.

LOL! 200 orgasms a year. Having sex has many benefits. It's easier and more fun with somebody that you love too. Males will probably only orgasm once or twice at the most in one night. Women can orgasm much more than once in one night, however. It's not rare to get 4+ for a woman, as well. (But sex that is carelessly performed by the man could result in no orgasm too....)
i am pretty sure you are 100% wrong
men definitely have more orgasms as a whole than women, its not even close
You are 100% wrong.
Women can orgasm multiple times, while men have cooldown times. Masturbation does not count as orgasm for men, since ejaculation is not technically orgasm. Men can orgasm without ejaculation. Men can also ejaculate without orgasm.
Where the hell did you learn biology, Hot_Bid? Or have you not had sex before?
Yeah, I jerk off just to clean up. I enjoy cleaning.

Stop being so disingenuous. The only way I know of ejaculation to occur without orgasm is through prostate disease, and thats not relevant to this at all.
" Masturbation does not count as orgasm for men, since ejaculation is not technically orgasm" orgasm causes ejaculation. you get an orgasm through solo masturbation. if you cannot grasp this simple process then i suggest you stop being high and mighty.

now take that and add to it that women masturbate much less frequently than men (though not as infrequent as many people believe)
