This is looking like a case of neglect on the part of the FBI that, if anything, cost Hillary the election, by keeping the infamous email investigation cast above her head right until the election was complete. Had they pursued the lead they had as soon as possible, she would've been cleared sooner, and all the "but her emails" could've died down a lot sooner. Complaining about the conduct of the FBI here is having your cake while eating it too. I think you’d be singing a different tune if George W Bush senior FBI officials had said the same thing of a prospective Obama victory. “We’ll stop it” would be wall to wall coverage of not only a Bush scandal, but also blatant racism. If Trump was all it took for the left to get in bed with the intelligence apparatus, then I can’t wait for what’s around the corner. If I was given to your brand of partisan hackery, I'd be ecstatic to have someone conspire against my candidate, while accidentally helping them win. But since I'm not, I'd much rather elections hold their integrity. I believe I told you this once: don't put words in my mouth. I'm already this close to not taking anything you say seriously.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) on Thursday released an ad that touts his support for President Trump's plan to build a wall along the Mexico-U.S. border.
“Hey, I wanted Mexico to pay for the wall," Manchin says in the ad. "But they’re not. So we need to do it ourselves.
“I voted to fund President Trump’s wall. Check the vote.”
He's sought to play up his willingness to back Trump, and said earlier this month that he was open to supporting Trump's 2020 presidential run.
Trump said in May he planned on spending significant time campaigning against Manchin.
Manchin says at the beginning of the ad that Morrisey, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and the establishment have begun attacking him, and that it is why "Washington sucks." He then caps the clip by saying, "I approve this ad, because Pat Morrisey is wrong."

I mean what Democrat couldn't get behind a message like that? I for one hope Democrat party donations go to this guy so Trump's wall has more bipartisan support in the Senate. Mexico was supposed to pay for the wall but we should all know that when brave Democrats like Manchin step up and expect us to pay for it he's doing the right thing. As is the Democratic party for backing someone so supportive of Trumps glorious immigration policies.

What's keeping the candle from blowing out?

If Trump switched to tweet support for Manchin and together they pass a bipartisan wall bill, that would be so lit.
Big tent Democrats. Making America Great Again, together.
It kind of reminds me of one of the touted Dem special election wins, Conor Lamb, in Pennsylvania's 18th, shown with an AR-15. Democrats for a wall and AR-15s mean they're serious about a big blue wave in November.+ Show Spoiler +

A senator from West Virginia supporting a wall in southern states so he can get re-elected. States that do not want the wall and who’s citizens are not willing to give up the land for it to be built on. A big tent filled with stupid ideas.
Maybe we can get some funding for schools in those child abuse camps Jeff sessions is setting up. Under stupid ideas, setting up camps to keep illegal immigrant child in because we took them from their parents.

A "real Democrat" senator from WV. Because party affiliation trumps policy. It's just nice that P6 and Danglars have found one of the shared spaces in their tents. Trump's immigration policy.
Be a shame if Manchin was considered persona non grata in the Democratic tent though.

It's not like Gun control and immigration are supposed to be issues where Democrats are strongly opposed to Republicans or anything.

Yeah, that gosh darn former Marine shown at a shooting range who supports expanding background checks, can't have him in the party.

The smartest thing the democrats could do is talk about supporting background checks while holding an AR 15. Because they will do it, unlike the Republicans.

It's interesting to see the phrases used in the IG report, it basically seems like he's saying he can't prove bias (but of course), but points out all sorts of... strange things that happened. I look forward to reading about this over the weekend when people have had time to read all 500+ pages. Danglars posted some tweets with excerpts, but there are more fun ones.
It seems to me more like your parents advice in action: do it right the first time, so you don't have to fix a worse problem later. Also, don't lie, cause then you'll have to lie bigger next time.
Just follow the law with regards to gross negligence extreme carelessness and let the chips fall where they may.

The IG report will be the latest rorschach test of 2018 politics. The only surefire hung about it is that the FBI looks bad.

Have you read any other IG reports, particularly of other departments? They all sound like that. The OIG sucks.

Just follow the law with regards to gross negligence extreme carelessness and let the chips fall where they may. Amusingly, the whole "extreme carelessness" statement is one of the things the IG calls out. Namely that it was improper to have such public statements on an ongoing or closed investigation, for the sake of trying to appear unbiased against political parties.

Jeff Sessions continues to remind us all why the wife of MLK wrote a letter to congress explaining why Sessions shouldn’t be a judge. Using the Bible to justify separating families and building a tent village to house the children.
Again, we are building prison camps for children.

Not many, though I do know they are written in bureaucrat.

I did know that. More amusingly, it makes my point.

He... did he really think this was a good idea? Kim is looking at that and thinking to himself "this is going to get so much play on my news"

it's because Trump knows it's the general who has the power ...

That picture doesn't really show what happened. Trump extended a hand to shake the general's hand, and the general responds by saluting. Trump then quickly switches to a salute without thinking, then the general switches immediately back to a handshake while trump is still saluting (when the photo takes place). He shouldn't have saluted the general at all, but he was essentially blindsided. Of all the things to make a big fuss about, I don't think this is one of them. He has no military experience which is pretty clear, and everyone already knew that.

Ok, so it's out of context, and a mistake, but still a photo opp that is going to be blasted around all of NK, as: "USA RECOGNIZES OUR MILITARY SUPERIORITY AND SALUTES OUR GENERALS"
