Since we are not native English speakers, I would like to ask you about your associatios when you hear or read this word - "goer", without knowing what this app is actually about.
Would be really thankful.

edit: Honestly though, it sounds very childish, and unless you have some revolutionary software I would avoid it at all costs.

I am not sure if it is meant to be pronounced "Go'er" or "Gör".

It sounds childish or simple or cutesy. Like someone is trying to think of a word that means "a person who is going" but it's all too complicated, so uses a not-word instead. It's not a word you would ever actually use in conversation. That's not necessarily a problem if that's what you're going for, but that's what it gives.

i don't like it personally, as a hipster for these things, but i don't see how it wouldn't fit as a travel app.

"Goer" just sounds odd, like someone is saying the last word in "blood and gore" with a drawl.

That's not necessarily a problem if that's what you're going for, but that's what it gives. The Up-Goer 5 was my first association, too. A bit more thinking lead me to believe that at least in the german speaking areas you will have the problem that "Gör" means "bratty child", and oe is often used as ö on the internet due to some programs having problems with weird letters.
