Keep the discussion ON TOPIC. This thread is for discussing the terror attacks in Paris. |

I wrote the same comment under the thread regarding the CH massacre. This will continue to happen until we as western societies and the muslim minorities living in them honestly discuss muslim extremism and its legitimization via salafist ideology based on the muslimic holy book. We need to aim for a point where we can find a consensus where people say "hear young muslimic dude you shouldn't take this line in the koran literally you should rather see the totally different times and context in which it was written". This ideology still gets tolerated in our socities (by muslims and nonmuslims) despite its facist nature. Our societies should put the gloves off against these guys and stop allowing them to hind themselves behind the freedom of religion line. Freedom of religion doesn't mean freedom to facism and it doesn't mean to agitate the youth for violent means either.
But I am sceptical I don't think that we are at a point where we can honestly discuss these things. Tomorrow we will hear the usual defense "these weren't muslims" brought up by politicians and people working for muslimic organisations. Of course they were muslims incited to kill inferior nonmuslims by other muslims in France and abroad. I fear a lot more people will die until we tackle these extremism in our societies. the problem is, the people currently in power dont want to talk about this, and eventually the population will get fed up and elect the (often unpleasant) people who are willing to deal with this. wait until it happens again in 2016 because you can be sure it's gonna happen again and the Front National is gonna have a free road

People jumping to a conclusion based on their own personal opinion about recent world events isn't that bad. Let's be honest. A guy said "it's for syria" and then shot.

They seem to be all in the Bataclan, yes. At least from what i gather of the news.

Lol @ people talking about prejudices. We know who is doing this here in France.

You seem to conflict two things here. Thinking that by default it's because of Syria and from muslim extremist, because it's simply the most likely in 2015 in France, is not the same thing as having prejudices against all muslims.
Sure it's always better to have all information but it's very likely that's what is happening right now.

A guy said "it's for syria" and then shot. Stop blinding yourself and accept facts... Who do you think did it ? Eye witnesses testimony is considered one of the more unreliable forms of evidence and the attack is ongoing. Saying that people are jumping to conclusions without all the facts is 100% accurate.
I agree that is likely terrorism from the middle east, but I can hold on for a couple hours to have that confirmed.

Allegedly eyewitnesses heard the guys with AKs yelling "Allahu Akbar." This is coming from a British tabloid so who knows...
