a good polo shirt is good for almost any occasion. as long as you dont POP your collar like a damn scenester with sun glasses on. Also Locaste and other high end brands have better fabric, longer "shelf" life (meaning they dont fade as fast getting that cheap old navy look).
this same thing applies to designer jeans etc.

Polo doesn't have a big logo, they make shirts with collars. Only difference is the price and the symbol. But Polo shirts have a few different symbols on them. Now, you said you don't want to look like you're bragging, but you choose a $80+ shirt, over something like polo for 25 - 50 dollars a shirt? Weird...Sounds like bragging to me.

Actually some of the best shirts I ever had were Lacoste. Were always my favourites, lasted long and didn't fade as quick. Also the material was nice, and they never itched or scratched anywhere.
So yeah, nice stuff, but pricey. If you have the money to spend on it, by all means do. If it's too pricey, you can always choose cheaper stuff, the difference is not THAT big, but there is some difference :/

Depends how you wash them, how long the color takes to fade.

Spit it out.
It's a fashionable, trendy brand and people like being fashionable and trendy.
Seems pretty straight forward?

I've seen a cheap lacoste pique polo for 49.99$ online. The others went for 70+. 35$ sounds a little too cheap to be real comparing to other online stores. Not that I care about pirated clothing but then 35$ is to much to pay if it's not genuine. Another possibility is that they stole a truckload somewhere in the world and sell it online.

The polos are not real. I reconize the packaging pictures that they posted up. I seen shelves of that exact packaging in Vietnam (all fakes). I could be wrong but I wouldnt risk it. For 40 dollars I would say go to a thrift shop and find some lacoste polos. The reason why they are so good is because they are classics and well made. My sister still has her polos from back in the 90's where is was like half the price of what it is now.
edit- you mentioned the sleeves being bigger than your lacoste polo, then its a definite fake. lacoste (or any other high end brand) is very precise and consistent with their sizing and cuts.

Super expensive polo, what is not to LOVE!?
I think they could be legit but w/e. I've never thought Lacoste was a super high end brand to begin with, i dont think its uncommon or out of the question that their old stock would find its way to discounters.

why do locoste polos cost so much? I mean the short sleeve ones, they dont like like particularly high quality or nice material or anything and for a polo anything that isnt like anything special is retarded to buy for like over 20-30$
I have plenty of golf polos that cost like $20 that look exactly the same and isnt a walking billboard
Im not trying to turn this into one of those type of threads were people get all hippish and like compllain about namebrand/designer clothes but I was just curious since I havent been into the whole preppy fashion crowd since highschool.

I think it simply comes down to the quality and the fit. I have a bunch of cheap polos from random stores, and also 1-2 Lacoste polos. The days I do wear polos, I usually wear Lacoste, simply because they feel better, look nicer (the color primarily; my other polos seem so dull and bland, probably from fading etc.), etc. Plus there are just times where it'd be nice to dress fashionable and trendy as someone said - not so much to be a walking billboard or wannabe scenester (I hate it too), but from the positive benefits you get from wearing something that doesn't look like you've had it since middle school, despite it being a polo.

Lacoste is what "trendy" frat boys wear because they think it makes them better and more fashionable than the people who wear AE, Hollister, Abercrombie, etc.. The construction is very good. The buttons are mother of pearl. The fit is usually right on. Spending $70 is justified, but they make you look like a douche bag.
There are way cooler polos out there (well, as cool as a polo can actually be..).

lacoste essential cologne is pretty good. I dont think I'd buy one of their polos unless it was on sale, not really worth it.
|
I own too much Lacoste right now, but yes - their fit is good, and you can get them for like, 52$ a polo at outlet stores (which is much preferable than spending that money on a shitbrand like Abercrombie).
Nobody looks like a douche wearing Lacoste, its just when it's pink and you pop your collar. Oh and make sure if you wash your shirts, make sure you didn't do a bleach cycle before that, the residue bleach owns clothes...
