Although this thread does not function under the same strict guidelines as the USPMT, it is still a general practice on TL to provide a source with an explanation on why it is relevant and what purpose it adds to the discussion. Failure to do so will result in a mod action.

an Air India flight from Canada was blown up in 1985 killing ~300 people. A girl on the flight attended my high school in the 80s.

Now this.

this is bad man.

"No one was in either building and damage was minimal."
https://montrealgazette.com/news/local-news/shots-fired-at-two-jewish-schools-in-montreal'

so did a couple of 14 year olds break a couple of windows with a pellet gun or what?

Justin Trudeau calling this "horrifying" is meaningless. In 2018, Trudeau was yapping and blapping away about an "Islamaphobic hate crime" that turned out to be a hoax. He never retracted his comments. He should've waited for an investigation before issuing blanket condemnations for something that did not occur.

The best way for Justin to protect what is left of his credibility is to resign now and let someone of the calibre of Bob Rae or Ken Dryden run the Liberals. If he did that I'd have a modicum of respect for his failed tenure as PM.

Sorry Justin, growing a beard won't do it. Its time to quit.

sad times...

the Peace Bridge and the Rainbow Bridge are 20 KM away from each other. They closed them both.

Trudeau's idiotic fear mongering exaggerations ain't helping.

the notwithstanding clause of the constitution has been doing a lot of heavy lifting lately.

in Saskatchewan, schools must get parental permission to change the pronouns and/or names of their children.

its stuff like this
https://nationalpost.com/news/schools-consent-transgender-gender-transition

that leads to jurisdications requiring parental knowledge and consent. Teachers should stick to math, literature, languages and science. Leave the parenting to the parents.

or the kids are just dicking around and laughing as they watch the Admins jump thru hoops over made up BS. When I was a kid I our little gang used to poke fun at the adults all the time... the kids are prolly laughing at us.

1 of the guys in my little gang used to have fake "anxiety issues". it allowed him to constantly get out of boring classes so he could have 2 hour long talks with the school counsel people. the guy was about the size of brock lesnar and was banging half the chicks in the school. i wish i had his "problems".

the school admins were getting clowned 20 years ago when i was in school. they're getting clowned now.

With that in mind.. its best to let the parents sort it out. So, I'd say this Saskatchewan legislation is a move in the right direction.

Now that the United States has clearly come out and demonstrated that India was connected to the murder of Nijjar, where can I find where Pierre apologizes to Trudeau and the Liberals for politicizing the murder of a Canadian citizen and for furthering discord in our intelligence community by suggesting that we somehow didn’t have proof that these murderers were hired by the government of India?

I cannot wait.

By the way Jimmy boy:

Is the same logic as “this one woman made a false rape accusation, so it stands to reason that every single rape accusation must also be fake”.

Well, given that is not what he said, then he should not apologize for that.
He did not say we did not have proof, just that Trudeau has not provided any proof. He said "we need to see more facts. The prime minister hasn't provided any facts. He provided a statement. And I just emphasize that he didn't tell me any more in private than he told Canadians in public, so we want to see more information."

Which is a fairly safe thing to say, given all Pierre had to react to at that time was a strong accusation and little else. But again, saying I'd like to see more information is not the same thing as saying the information does not exist.

The fact that Trudeau wouldn’t publicly undermine our nation and her allies ongoing intelligence operations shouldn’t be used for political posturing. Pierre failed to attend a special debate about the Nijjar killing in parliament. He sounds like someone who skipped class and is now blaming the professor for not properly teaching him all the things he missed from the days he skipped class.

It is suggesting that either:

A. The PM is outright fabricating a story about a nation state committing murder on citizens of another nation. Just blatant treason.

B. The Canadian intelligence apparatus and that of our five eyes allies are collectively engaging in mass treason or are too incompetent to resolving evidence connecting the murder of Nijjar to India.

C. The PM has proof that Canadian intelligence and our allies intelligence were able to gather that does link the Nijjar murder to India, and that would should be done next is a complete abandonment of our allies and our intelligence investigations in order to placate his need for not only answers but also for public answers about not only an ongoing investigation, but also more generally how we and our allies gather intelligence.

Take your pick.

Very interesting that casting huge amounts of doubt onto our institutions and our allies institutions to support the claims of a foreign entity that engaged in the murder of our citizens is a complete nothingburger to you.

Even if any of this is true, which is highly dubious. Anecdotal evidence is notoriously suspect. Please do better, or just don’t.

anecdotal?
the kids clown school admins since forever. furthermore, kids lie all the time. so do adults. the majority of adults are liars.
https://www.crossrivertherapy.com/research/lying-statistics#:~:text=On a daily occurrence, there, when talking to their physicians.

https://www.educationworld.com/a_curr/shore/shore042.shtml

Students these days are doing much more than just lying to teachers. There is plenty of BS-ing going on.. but there is more. 30% of teachers in sask schools experienced violence. So its not big stretch to say 30% are being lied to by students.
https://globalnews.ca/news/9971377/teacher-abuse-canada-protection/

so again, i think its best to let the parents sort it out
and dude, the alpha dawg of my gang bullshitting a teacher or two was the least of our crimes. we were one nasty bunch.
thus, generally speaking, i'm in favour of the general sentiment of the new saskatchewan legistaltion.

no, i'd say we need an entire justice system to sort that out.

kids lie all the time. so do adults. in fact, most adults are liars. see my link above.
so i'd rather see the parents sort it out. i'd rather not get government agents like teachers get involved.
so i'm in favour of the general direction of the legislation.

I prefer the teachers in Saskatchewan and throughout Canada focus more on math. Canada's performance in math is decent but it is falling.
https://www.fraserinstitute.org/article/math-scores-falling-across-canada-particularly-in-the-prairies

Taking a 10 minute drive through Mississauga I see math tutor businesses for primary and secondary schools all over the place. So I think most people in southern Ontario agree with me. As we get more and more immigration from cultures who take Math very seriously this may become a nationwide phenomenon.

The onus is upon you to prove an area where kids do not lie. Generally, kids BS and go throw a "testing authority" stage of life where they'll do whatever they can to undermine authority.

Also, kids having been under mining authority and BS-ing for centuries about everything. So you're going to need some really strong evidence.

the claim is not made up. Generally speaking , the majority of kids lie.

Anyhow, getting back to the topic. I'd rather see the parents sort out these issues and not teachers.
Teachers should focus more on teaching math. I've explained my perspective in detail.

LOL, most people are liars... so if you're making a coin flip bet on this.. .you've got the odds. thanks for proving my point.

anyhow, the story is true. and its common. i'm not sure what world you live in where people don't lie. especially, when its incentivized.

people lie and cheat all the time. just check out the ladder of any game. talk to anyone who works for the CRA. Or, talk to any school teacher. students BS.

I don't believe being non-commital about a subject is scoring political points. Quite frankly, I don't think it's the subject Pierre wants to score political points on. If he had his way, I think he'd love to bang away about housing, interest rates, the cost of living, and Axe the Tax until the next election. I think, he thinks, he's found his winning formula, maybe dredge up a few old scandals like Lavelin for good measure. You watch. Trudeau will try to make some play, claiming that Pierre is going to ban abortion or some such, and Pierre will try and stay in the pocket, banging on about expenses.

Option D. You don't trust Trudeau's judgement so much, so you'll wait until more information comes out. But in the mean time, a bunch of mics get shoved in your face to comment on the latest thing Trudeau has said, so you say you'd like to have more information before committing to a position. I was not so convinced myself as I was unsure the Indian government was such a government that assassinated citizens on the regular. For instance, if some president said that Trudeau's government assassinated a citizen in another country, I, myself, would not take their word for it as I do not believe that this is something any Canadian government does. And if they have, I wouldn't believe it until I saw credible evidence. Whereas, if the same was accused of Russia, I'd think it's a more reasonable claim even without seeing evidence.

So two thing changed my mind. One, poking around a bit and finding that India has in fact assassinated people, though usually in their own country. And two, other intelligence organizations more or less confirmed what Trudeau had said. But nobody stuck a mic in my face in that inbetween time, asking for my position.
