"I fear my daughters will see no economic future in Canada" https://archive.ph/hIIjM Since about 1960, economic opportunities in southern Ontario rivalled the best opportunities in the USA until about 2009. It was a great long run... but its over. I really enjoyed playing Canadian employers off of US employers to get my best possible deals. Those days are long over. There is no "fear". "fear" is not a factor. Reality is the issue. We used to talk. The Constitution is clear on who is responsible for what. Great leaders like Saskatchewan’s Tommy Douglas fathered public health care and Alberta’s Peter Lougheed created the Alberta Heritage Fund. Pierre Trudeau enacted the most important piece of legislation in our country’s history: the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. These transformative policies were possible when politics was not the arena for grand signalling, but for grand thinking. For grand effort and grand results. Look at how smart and accomplished the team of PM Pierre Trudeau and Finance Minister Jean Chretien were. Now it is Justin and Freeland. LOL. Canada's leaders are no where near as good. They are not stupid people. However, they are no where near as qualified, experienced, book-smart, or street-smart. I'll take Chretien over Freeland any day. Its not even close. "we've got a lot of bleeding hearts in this country who do not like looks of men wearing helmets and carrying guns... well all i have to say is... go on and bleed" The guy in the posted article should quit whining and create an exit strategy. No one deserves life long permanent multi-generational residence in an apex level 1st world country. You have to go out and find it. And then that country has to welcome you. So as The_pwnerer Jeremy would say "get your skills up".. | ||
