On the other side we have nepo baby who only graduated because of daddy’s money and who clearly doesn’t under stand the very basics of trade. Canada will do as well as it can given the circumstances. | ||

Lol Not sure why you are still crying about trade and Trump, the US is pretty much the only G7 nation not in any sort of recession with significant growth buffer. Canada was in technical recession for a while and almost worst out of g7 coupled with 0 physical precious metal asset in the reserve. The ad was at Bathurst and Lawrence in Toronto. looks nice right? within 100 metres of this giant ad is a police temporary command centre. There are 2 such temporary command centres within 2 blocks of bathurst and lawrence. The police presence is... to be fair... oppressive. The cops walking around that neighbourhood look like they are ready to invade Poland. If the police command centre were not right beside the ad/banner there is almost no doubt the sign would be vandalized. If I put up 10 posters advertising this event anywhere more than 500M away from an established police presence they'd be vandalized. And "vandalized" is being academic, generous and vague. Under Olivia Chow, Toronto's supposedly NDP-aligned mayor, police spending has gone up 22% in 3 years from 1.17B to 1.43B. Walking around Bathurst and Lawrence... any one can see where the money is going. One thing I noticed in town is the Canada sign people have very well kept yards. The Alberta sign people a lot have really shitty yards. I might be way too old school on this but I think it’s a terrible look for the separatist crowd. Purely anecdotal, but it has been very surprising to me I was expecting way more Alberta flags. With great turnout especially in the cities this should get smashed and hopefully be dead. | ||

Haha, I have an older family member who brought this up ages ago and it has since been known as "Sarah's Law" given that we've all since succumed to the supporting evidence. It's nice because you can be out for walk, pass a bunch of federalist signs, then see the separatist sign in front of the house with the doorless caravan on milk crates and say "Sarah's Law". And then the ratfucking at Elections Alberta causes the coal petition to get absolutely punked. So we have a question that most people don't want, but also 9 questions nobody asked for. And that's the point. Smith knows the referendum bullshit is going nowhere, but she's using it to push her stupid anti-immigrant narrative so that she can come out the other side with some other justification of who to blame for her government's absolute fecklessness. "Sorry, Ottawa is here to stay, but that's ok because it's all of the immigrants' fault. And the immigrants are Ottawa's fault", etc. etc. Mining the generic grievances of Albertans has been such a powerful tool for lazy Albertan politicians for as long as we've all been alive and it's not going anywhere. Right now we're living in the consequences of decades of lazy opportunism and as much as I'd love to think it'll be put to bed, it's still too rich a resource for shitty grifter fucks that there will always be some dipshit around to pick up the shovel. Just maybe next time we can home they don't occupy the Premier's office. | ||
