Unreal..
mhmm in hindsight, sure
Information security is not their speciality, thinking it's all anonymous.
It's the kind of mistake that happens only once and you look like a fool.
hosting WCC preparation games on a public server is peak "dun goofed" if you ask me..
anyway, I think that if Ding doesn't strike in game 12, Nepo will win this one. I think Ding has to seek for his chance in the next game no matter what.
Very complicated and exciting game been played today, and yet again the match is all open. Liren is showing great resilience. One of the most back and forth WCC of all time.

Well you were just complaining that it was going to boring for the rest of the match, now you're complaining that isn't. I'm starting to think you should only ever watch Magnus play if that's what you want.

No, I am not complaining about it. Its just stating facts. Its much better to draw the match than to see Ian just draw it to the end

Honestly your 'sport at the highest level' comment irks me. This is the highest level. Its like having Barcelona and Man City playing a Champions League final and saying its going to be rubbish because Real Madrid aren't playing. These guys are the second and third best chess players in the world.

I think your misunderstanding his comment. He is saying this is the highest level and its all about handling the pressure (since both clearly have the skill). And both are, this tournament, not doing great at that.

If their game would have an abnormal (for top clubs) amount of errors, bad passes, etc, and it was painfully obvious they'd have no chance against Real who (in this metaphoric example) won previous 10 UCLs in a row but this time just refused to play because it's boring for them - yes, people would say that this final's quality is not high at all.
It's understandable as both of them have the best chance of their life to become a WC - I'm not sure Nepo really believed he can win in his last WC series. A winner of a scrappy final full of mistakes is still a champion and should be rightfully proud of it. You can only win against the opponent in front of you, it's not their fault Magnus got bored, they should not care about this.

Yeah they have extra pressure fromm being both challengers with goose chances to win. But chess is cruel. Anyone who plays at tournaments knows this feeling of throwing out a game. In 2021 saved a pawn final where I was -53 against a 1990, earlier in that game I was +8 and one move away from victory
Unbelievable that people are whining about the blunders. This is exciting and awesome. Engines are what is ruining chess cause everyone is like "OMGLOL THEY PLAY SO BAD" cause they're just watching along with an engine and even the commentary teams have the eval bars, not factoring in the immense intense pressure and that they don't play with eval bars let alone the engine showing the best lines. And yes, of course magnus would destroy both Ding and Nepo, but he chose not to so here we are with an actual exciting match! Fabi vs Magnus was really good but everyone whined about the draws. People are just never going to be happy
I really don't care about the blunders. I know these players are doing their best and they're playing fighting chess. I'm highly entertained and curious to see it all the way to the end. I've rarely seen a chess match that is of greater quality and greater intensity. There will always be people who disagree, and I don't care about that whatsoever. This match will go down in history and the games will be studied by many players.

Yeah, I love Fabiano, because he is really avoiding looking at the eval, of course sometimes lesser commentators asked him "why do you think the eval goes this way" because they want to sound a bit competent.
It's incredible to have someone of Caruana's level commenting and in some position after two moves it's so complicated that he might go "After this, I go on intuition, I don't see anything specific..."
Those commentators that goes "oh we had that lines" while the eval bar is under their eyes are quite useless because they forgot how tricky is a move.
Like compare how Caruana explains Bishop C2 from Ding compared to some other you see around the net...
Caruana gives all the potential ideas of that move, others spend time explaining why it is a mistake.

Sure does. Nepo was extremely emotionally devastated after his loss, arguing with himself for several minutes during the game. Here's the footage:
