im currently using the razer copperhead with exactmat but for some reason, it's hard to use it for pinpoint precision, for instance.. it's hard to play like sc with it cuz the mouse isn't really that comfortable, and it's hard playing minesweeper too -.-;;

either way, the problem most likely is that ur not used to your mouse yet. That or play with the sensitivities. and ofcourse if ur like most ppl, accel should be off.

yeah you probably just need some getting used to...

but try turning off 'hardware acceleration' in mouse properties. that works sometimes

if you really want to turn off accel, go to ftp://ftp.thecpl.com/ and dl the mouse_fix. Just turning off mouse_accel on options doesnt do the trick.

I didnt know this and played for years without the mouse_fix. I got so used to it that when i turned off accel, i couldnt really aim.

I stated this somewhere but people in the cs community usually agree that best mouse for cs is MX series or intellimouse

mousefix basically edits your registry to disable mouse accel. You will notice the difference right away assuming accel was on prior to installing

the copperhead is awkward like the other mice that razer puts out, it just takes some time getting use to, the mx series is very nice although some of that series is only for right handed people only. Yeah mouse accel really screws you over in CS no matter what mouse you are using...

Stick with a good mouse and mouspad for a few weeks before you judge either too harshly. I bought a func surface mousepad and didn't like it at first, but after I while I did. I also didn't like the mx518's shape at first, but now I like it and I feel confident in both.

I used to play at a Internet cafe where the mice were very accelerated, but after a few times I got used to it and was able to play well. Then I'd go back to my own mouse and it would feel awkward until I got used to it again. The body's muscles have to adjust to different setups. It's not like you can just jump into an awesome CS player's setup and expect to do what they do. Some of those guys have very very unique setups as well.

Accel kicks ass. It's only fucked up because different offline tournaments use different windows versions which all have really, really different accel builds.

Don't concern yourself too much with all that DPI jazz, get a mouse that you feel comfortable playing with. The newer ones are all around or above 1200 DPI, which is way more than was thought possible a few years back. At times I think I'd gladly switch my Diamondback for an older mouse.

Its about feeling comfortable with a mouse. I cannot stand microsoft 3.0. I like Logitech mx300 myself. Other people love Microsoft mice and hate Logitech.

The answer is of course - there is no one best mouse today. There are quite a few good enough, but which of them suits you best you'll have to find out for yourself.

Don't get blinded by technical specifications. The difference is not noticeable in this department. What matters most is that it suits your hand and is comfortable and easy to play games with.

Personally I've found that too low friction mouse pads are bad for FPS games (I've played CS with my clan for quite a few years) and as I got better I switched to the func pad (low friction). BUT I discarded it and chose the qpad later on (medium friction) and found it easier to be more accurate with that one.

Copperhead is the best mouse vertically and horizontally,if your not shooting good with it then your just not good to begin with(or have really small hands).Try makeing perfect vertical lines with any other of those shity mx ergo-nomic mouses,YOU CANT,its virtually impossible you will be CS newb forever.Just lower your mouse dpi to 1600 and change the sensitivity just enough so you can make a 75% of a 180 degrees turn and your set.

For a mouse to be good you need the lazer to be in the middle where your thumb placement is like on the copperhead.The krait looks good for rts just because their lazer is slightly nudged up makeing it more of a flick of the wrist mouse.But the weight addons to the copperhead makes it ideal for RTS aswell so im split between the krait and copperhead.But if you want to have a mouse for rts and fps then the copperhead is best.

just know that any run of the mill 15 dollar mouse wont cut it. When it comes to some of the proven mouse, yea its just preference... but something like dell optical or logitech mini and stuff wont be accurate. Maybe its just me, but all lower end mouse i tried either have a slow response to my movements or just spaz out when i swipe it fast.
