![]() @SpaceFighting: have you seen it/felt it in person? It's true that people almost universally don't like the design (personally I'm actually quite partial to it hehe) but I know a few people who changed their minds after seeing it person. It feels really good in the hand which is a good thing, and I imagine you'd get used to it maybe >< @krndandaman: oh good idea, crowd source from TL :D I want to see how good the front-facing cam pics look as well! Though some people might not want to take pics of themselves lol

Hope you get an Android device if you eventually do get a smartphone >:D fwiw, there was a study that basically indicated that smartphones make you more stressed, so maybe not having one is better ;P

Your plan really isn't too shabby, honestly you can just stick to it if you want if budget is in issue, especially because most smartphones show no sign of falling prices (unless they're one of the really low-end) Also, on smartphones you're lucky to get 1,5 days out of some LOL, and I'm willing to bet some of the quad-core devices won't last more than 1,5 hours if you're playing one of those high-end games... Oh also to stay more on topic, I just preordered my SGS3 in the modified blue/grey color after the original pebble blue's fiasco; will only get to use it when I get back to the states in mid-to-late July though.

I like the blue quite a bit but I'm not spending $800 for really awful faux brushed metal on a device I'm forced to look at and touch.

The freedom of android is mindblowing, which makes the android market, while slightly smaller than apple appstore, much more fun to search in. For example, I've been meaning to read Song of Ice And Fire, only read the first book, but I pretty much only read on my iphone and those books are extremely expensive on amazon.. since I'm at work, I couldn't check some less than legal sites for them.. so I downloaded a torrent program ON MY PHONE and got the 4 first books in kindle format, working perfectly in the official kindle app. Something like this, while maybe not useful every day, is something you simply can not do on an iPhone. Even with a jailbreaked iPhone it would be messy, but on my S3, I can do it without even rooting it. iOS is still way more userfriendly though, which is understandable since that is like 80% of Apples focus. I find the settings etc on my S3 to be a mess and I've had to consult google several times to make it work like I want... but that's what I expect from a phone which lets me customize pretty much any part of it.

Waiting another 3-4 months to get a phone thats what happens. If you want to think with that logic the next Galaxy Note 2 will be coming out around November and most likely blow the iphone 5 out of the water. The whole "I'll wait for the next one" when you clearly want to buy a product just doesn't fly in the tech world. There will always be something better around the corner. In this case you could just be partial to liking Apple products/software of that of samsung/google.

Anyone know to give me some con's and pro's of it? I disagree that apple has the tablet market cornered, but i second the transformer prime suggestion, it's better buy for the money both in processing power, build quality, and company support (you'll get quicker updates to latest versions of the OS, both factory via Asus and open source 3rd party via cyanaogen mod and the like). GL with your android adventures!

@bokchoi: elaborate? What do you mean by touch functionality and touch feeling? They're both smartphones with capacitive touch screens...I'm not sure what you mean. What specific touch features do you feel Android lacks? :o @catnzhat: yeah, I mean Apple can't actually control the tablet prices etc. I guess I meant more that Android tablets have almost a universally worse rep (i.e. from the most tech-savvy to the most chobo in tech) at least in my experience; also, I don't know the numbers, but iirc Apple has over 50% market share alone and thus is outselling Android tabs collectively ._. There are, of course, lots of reasons to like Android tabs though, I agree ^^
