I watch these in the hopes that one day the candidates will argue ideas. At least Obama wasn't up there lying/placing a smokescreen for his ideas. You can say "this plan was originally pitched by Republicans in the 90s." Which is I believe the party line. The origin of "this party began as a bipartisan one" is based upon pre-Scott Brown Congress, which is a separate muddier issue.

I think the right answer would have been to agree that it has been a tough election and a difficult road against a worthy opponent. The guy was looking for a positive answer, not another attack against the opposition. They should have expressed respect for each other at this final question, not more attacks
