Some places rent is pretty low. 2 bdrm house in the Catskills: http://catskills.craigslist.org/apa/3240533529.htmlRent is $400/mo get a roommate and that's just $200/mo for each of you. $9/hr wouldn't be so bad with rent that low. Look again, that poster is an obvious scammer and every single other unique listing is substantially higher.

Pretty sure this is a reference to Bush Tax cuts.

Electricity, gas, water, garbage, and phone? Plus internet, although you can argue that internet isn't 100% necessary.
Gotta love how so many Americans just skip the idea of state sovereignty and march right on to the idea that just because we have the capability to produce a military that is so large that it makes one sick, we should invade everyone everywhere at the slightest hint of something different from us.

That is still nothing. I rented a decent apartment with a friend for 800$ a month, 60$ water, $60 electric, $60 net -- Thats $500 a month to have a place to live. Off of 9$ an hour x40 = 360gross a week or about 1400gross a month. Take taxes, and if you have an insurance option -- safe side $1000 a month take home .. After the initial living expenses you have $500 a month for food, entertainment, whatever.. If you are spending more than $15 a day on stuff like that you are doing something wrong.

That's because he is absolutely clueless about foreign policy. And social issues. But the entire Republican party is off-base with social issues. Their strong point is definitely economic issues.

You forgot transportation; if you have a vehicle, you need to pay for gas as well as insurance (which is mandatory in every state that I know of).
You also forgot health insurance.
You also left out gas (heat/stove), garbage, and phone.

Honestly I am for once jealous; both American candidates are better than our Australian counterparts.

Romney's rant about are you better off now than you were 4 years ago is way off base. He is drastically oversimplifying things and its sad .
To say that everyone was better off after Reagan's terms is hillarious. Not to mention the elimination of the middle class is due to a number of factors, I would argue it is mainly globalization and the manufacturing jobs leaving this country.

Sad Romney, hes probably genuinely a good guy but ;\

1) More trade, holding trading partners to ethnic standards. 2) Less forgein oil, more USA generated energy 3) A strong military that can not be challenged (hence no one would ever attempt to make war)
Sounds good to me, Though I don't like Romney for other reasons.

Eh, I'll probably still be living the same way when I'm done. There's very little I want that I don't already have. Maybe a new car? My needs are rather simple. Cable/internet, food, a bed, and enough money to go the bars once/twice a week.

Good speech. For Romney, it was a great speech. Probably about as good as he can do.
