Not sure about that...though I do think most people weren't educated about advertising and will buy into social hype and whatever companies tell them. (i.e. lacking critical thinking)

Once you convert to FascistMuslimism you take that middle name.
Naaahhh, I joke. He got the name when his parents wrote it on his birth certificate. Where'd you think he got it from?

There's no shortage of shit to spend money on in this life.... wife, kids, a house, cars, etc. When you're finally out in the real world, you learn real fast just how scarce money really is.

What is this "real world" you speak of? lol. And I thought you were a conservative? So if you don't want money to be scarce, don't get a wife, kids, house, cars, etc. Be a little thrifty.

It was solid. I still feel he's weak when he delves into the impact Obama's policies, because his generalized claims just beg to be challenged.
But when he talks about HIMSELF he actually is strong and confident. It's hilarious that he's been backing off Bain, because he more powerful and compelling when he talks about business. It's obvious that he loves business, his eyes actually light up.
If he just reiterates the message that the last four years have been disappointing, and he can do a better job of improving the economy, that might be enough to hold the fort and win.

To be honest I consider the average TL'r smarter then most people. My friends complain that twelve an hour is too little because everytime a new Iphone comes out the one they have now is "outdated" and they have to get the new one. I geuss TL'rs are just more immune to advertising than the people I know. They also spend 5$ on starbucks coffee every morning and 10$ on lunch everyday so yeah....
Edit: to list yet more expenditures: most buy atleast 2 if not 3 new videogames every quarter so thats a little over 200$ or about 65$ a month. Then you have 20-40$ a month phone plans and of course funding their weed habbits, I dont know how much that costs so I can't really say if that takes a large chunk of their money. They smoke every other weekend or so, maybe someone here knows how much that costs. They typically watch atleast 1 if not 2 movies a month so thats another 20-40$ a month. Gum, snacks, pop, energy drinks all add yet more. It amazes how much the average NA teenager spends.

fuck romney.. he doesn't give a shit about the environment

Switching between MSNBC and Fox News is hilarious. It's like they each watched a completely different conference. you have the left-biased MSNBC tearing the thing apart and the right-biased fox news praising it. I guess you can tune into which side you support to feel better about what happened.

Seemed like an incredibly defensive position tonight. Too much puffery about Bain, gives me nightmares about corporations are people. Then again, I'm not the target audience, maybe his base likes that.

I just watch CNN where they seem to be liking and not liking it at the same time, kinda confusing.

CNN is always aggressively neutral and to an extent it is one of the weaknesses of there network.

I think the strongest part of the speech, and the part that will stick in people craw, was that Romney contrasted the hopes and aspirations of the Obama campaign by simplifying the agenda -- Jobs, Jobs, Jobs.

Or Fox without the racism. Zing!

gtfo. CNN attempts to be neutral to a fault. Not every argument is valid and there arent 2 sides to every story -_-

All in all, it was a good convention for Romney and the republicans. Some of the speeches were exemplary, particularly those given by Paul Ryan, Condi Rice, and Ann Romney. I think the case was made that needed to be made. Now, Romney is free to dump his $200 million war chest into the election and really start the national campaign. We will see how it goes.
I'm interested in seeing what the democrats do. I'm expecting 1) a celebration of feminism, and 2) more arguments about the failed republican policies of the past. I'm curious as to how democrats are going to present their accomplishments of the past four years. They are going to have to present something demonstrably positive rather than just tearing republicans down.

This is the kind of shit that pisses me off about US politics. Herp derp teleprompter herr durr Obama can't think on the fly cause he uses a TELEPROMPTER. Guess fucking what, every fucking speaker uses a teleprompter.

Mitt Romey: It makes sense to use a teleprompter
Oh man they both use teleprompters! How do we decide who wins then if they BOTH *gasp* use teleprompters?!

Holy shit ... we actually agree!
Oh wait, I actually thought Paul Ryan was meh. Rubio was strong, and a natural speaker. And Romney did as great job humanizing himself, even though he leaned on the same old talking points at the end.
