Of course when you get to not sneaker shoes what and who you buy from changes, but I still wouldn't buy my oxfords from Hugo Boss.

If you're looking for business casual dress shoes I'd go for Aldens and for boots I favor Allen Edmonds, although Grenson also makes some beautiful chukkas. It is OK to wear sneakers while being casual of course (even though I wouldn't do it, casual =/= lazy) but if you're going for a job interview or such, wear a pair of brown leather shoes. Brown is awesome, it ads style but doesn't make you look overly dressed for the occasion. Blue chinos, match the belt to the shoes, a nice sweater and a blazer and you will be OK to go in almost all situations. For more casual stuff, ditch the blazer, put a shirt under the sweater and roll up the sleeves, voila! On another note, autumns here! Great, because now you can start wearing layers again ![]() ![]()

Jos A Bank sometimes has buy one get two for free deals, so you can certainly pick some up from them as well when the sale is on (and shoes tree, and other random accessories):

I mean im paying for the brand but I received those as gifts, and I rarely wear them, and I prefer my regular chucks much more they are so loud (not so much by Tokyo standards, but for me at least), and basically just scream, 'look at me, i wear comme des garcons' I wouldn't pay $120 for them, for something that's slightly different from regularly chucks, I'd personally spend money on converse by john varvatos (pretty cheap as they go on sale so frequently) On October 09 2012 08:10 andyrau wrote: THOM BROWNEY RAF SIMONZ COMME DE GARBAGE YEEEE just get seavees if you want nice casual sneakers; onitsuka tigers are alright but I'm partial to more minimalist designs. also, I've heard bad things about Aldo but those are just anecdotes. Alden and AE are unfortunately at different price points. I think AE makes wonderful entry level shoes (you can get fifth ave for 229 right now) and they make resoling so easy (though expensive). Alden sort of developed a cult following over the years that really drove up their prices (try shoemart for 2nds), and they really aren't worth it for calf. Cordovan are different stories, and I don't have any experience with either. I say just stick with AE sales and 2nds, you can probably pick up some really nice stuff for 2x price of Aldo, and they are 200% worth it. Speaking of boots: Thinking of picking this up: http://motostyle.jp/leather-silver/item/mensboots/1640/1640.html ![]() Japanese artisan with Japanese leather. Roughly $700, could be a winter 'investment' Really amazing stuff here: http://motostyle.jp/leather-silver/item/mensboots/mens-top.html
