I'm thinking about using it on an upcoming company christmas party. The theme is "glitter & glamour". What do you think I should fly with it? I've no marine blue slacks, do jeans work? Or chinos (if so, what color?). Thinking a white dress shirt. With our without tie? If so, what tie goes well with above setup? As you can figure out, I've got no clue about these things.

I am also in need of a backpack, thought about getting one here for the trip but then i considered that i could also travel there with an old one and buy one once there, should be less expensive. Anything resembling sober, street or technic will do fine, up to 100-120$. cheers!

All my ties have a wear scare on the left edge. It's really annonying. I use a simple knot, should i change the knot or do it less quickly ? Does anyone ever faced the same problem ?

http://www.jcrew.com/browse/single_product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT<>prd_id=845524441835486&FOLDER<>folder_id=2534374302038065&nav_type=&bmUID=k7zRLPz Total price would be about 230ish which I'm willing to dish out if it's worth it. Does anyone have experience with J.crew's peacoats? Any input is greatly appreciated! Also how flexible is Charcoal? What other colors go well with it?

for your fit question, peacoats generally make guys look really top heavy; their legs look stumpy by comparison. If you don't have very long legs compared to your torso/aren't very tall/not very built, I'd look into getting other coats. as always, you could try it and keep it/return it depending on how you like the fit. it's the beauty of online shopping as most places offer free return shipping. also at jcrew's pricing, you're better off getting schott or toj or something. as for my opinion, I'd definitely look into other coats as the peacoat train already took off 2 or 3 years ago.

oh i found it: http://supertalk.superfuture.com/index.php/topic/144455-waywt-destroyed-my-life-2013/page-129#entry3000755 Overall I think COS is like a high end Uniqlo, great place to get basics, but it's also a decent alternative for more expensive items such as outerwear.

What other coats would you recommend for my body type? Like I said I'm 5'5 and I'm pretty average in terms of being built. I'm not totally skinny either. Thanks for the help ![]()

in all honesty the slim look good on legs but not the thigh/hip area whereas the straight looks good on the hips/thigh but not the legs (only because its kinda lose). is slim straight in the middle between these two? i never tried on those pants so i dont know how it would fit.

Thanks for the help ![]() I think motos look good on smaller people if you know how to style it right. really any type of short & slim coats/jackets would be decent in complementing your stature; mid length, 3/4, or full length outwear simply makes you look like a child and exposes your proportions instead of hiding them. Like I said, just get the jcrew peacoat and try it on. if you don't like it as much then simply return it.

Leather jackets are the kind of thing that need a justification for wearing only because they are so overpoweringly obvious. When someone wears a leather jacket, there should be no question why they are, since a leather jacket being worn for shits and giggles kinda defeats the badass-appeal of a leather jacket.
