If that was the case, then we wouldn't have ads at all. Since they wouldn't matter. But it is alright man. The 15 minutes it would take you, a popular website designer, to figure out how to allow an exception is far too great a cost compared to what you get from this website. In fact I think that you could philosophically extend this to all facets life. Help an old lady across the street? 3 minutes of time. But she probably would have made it any way, so it isn't worth it.

I like Esports but i HATE ad's more. All day ever day I get Advertisements in my face. If i could get rid of Ads in my everday life I would.
I will use the control over Ads on the internet cos it keeps me sane. Thanks TL I love you but no, only if its mandatory..... which you wouldn't do. Would you?

I tried turning off my adblock for this site, but it still blocks more than half the banners... not much I can do about that. At least the ads that appear are interesting ones.

You know it would have been clever if you had manually allowed an advertisement to be placed over the actual poll, covering it for all that had adblock turned off (or not installed), because then you would know that anyone that does vote DOES use it on Teamliquid and you could get a good scope for the exact number of perpetrators (or for a play on words, perpetraitors).

I don't block any ads from TL.

I actually don't use any adblocks at all. All the best websites are designed with consideration for the user, and the obtrusiveness of ads is one way I gauge if I ever want to revisit a website.

Those who need adblocks must really hate the idea of ads, or must frequently visit some very obnoxious websites.

This thread is interesting to see the different ways people rationalise their behaviour...

The ads are so unobtrusive I missed them until I read the "Site Changes" article. And even after I read it, I only just now realized there's an ad banner at the top of the page. Before, I thought there was just the one under the TLAF banner.

sometimes i do, sometimes i dont, depends on wether i am in streamwatching mood, because if i disable adblock on TL i automatically allow streamads when i watch through the TL site <.<, if there is any way to get around this i would not mind the tiny spaces TL uses for ads.

I do block ads on teamliquid. It's a matter of principle, against advertisment in general. Why? 2 reasons.

1. it is a a very unproductive activity for society, in which yet a lot of money, time, and energy is thrown (away). How many people work to make ads? and for what purpose? Wouldn't all this be better used somewhere else?

2. the content of ads is generally not a celebration of the intelligence of man. Quite the contrary.

I am definitely willing subscribe to teamliquid, like paying a monthly fee; sure they deserve it. I do that for other websites, like news sites. I suggest that TL organizes this (if you are a subscriber, we suppress ads for you). But no ads sorry

Not possible as far as I know.

There's money for both, but clicking is worth more.

If it was just ads somehow related to gaming, I would probably have no problem with them. However, before site changes, whenever I disabled adblock, I got bombarded with the absolute worst of what advertising has to offer: weight loss, astrology, basically anything short of penis enlargement and viagra. Tried disabling adblock again now, I got ads for a Burger King whopper and chemical dyes. Now, I can at least order the dyes, should I for some reason require them(although I have absolutely no idea why I would need them, they seem as useful to me as a boat is for a fish), however, there is not even a Burger King in my country, so that ad is worse than useless.

Also, some element on the site just refused to load after I disabled blocking, keeping the site in a semi-broken state until I hit stop in my browser.

No I don't block adds on TL, or on anything. 30 seconds of my time in return for hours of watching a stream is pretty worth it. Nothing happens when adds are being played anyway, so I would get to watch somebody wait for their add to finish if I had addblocker on :/

I only keep adblock on when I'm watching JP or wheat's shows because I want to hear/see what's going on, especially wheat's stuff because you get a glimpse of the production aspect of the shows. I always turn it off when just watching someone stream games.
