I'm yet to see a website that has really obnoxious ads and at the same time really good content. If there was such a website, then I guess an ad blocker of some kind would be a good idea, so long as you let the site's administration know that you will block their advertising until they make it a good deal less annoying. If enough people do the same thing, they'll tone it down.

Seeing so many people come here as a regular visitors all the while blocking ads, justifying by whatever reasoning makes them feel better about it, is upsetting to read. We removed the "Don't hurt Esports" thing. It was a complete joke that we thought would be funny. We didn't realize that people would take it serious. I apologize if you took offense. Noo!!! I like any excuse to see that cute little elephant. I wish the site would be flooded all the time so i can see the we cannot hold one. ^_^ I do not adblock any of my favorite websites. In fact i dont really adblock that many websites in general. They deserve the ad revenue that it brings them, its the least i can do seeing i use their content FOR FREE. Everyone on the internet is so entitled these days....

Don't be that guy. Please take precautions to avoid becoming one of the sad and lonely group of people each year who are stricken with this plague. Be nice to your fellow man. Go out of your way to help others in need. Enjoy life. If you, or someone you know is suffering from rational egoism please contact your local homeless shelter, soup kitchen, food pantry, religious denomination, or any miscellaneous charity. Please, friends don't friends become rational egoists. Holy jump to conclusions batman... Just because I offer an interpretation from utility doesn't mean I subscribe to it and only it. I'm a trained philosopher and it's really uncontroversial in my field to use utility economy to discuss ethics and such. Not to mention you don't even understand rational egoism in the first place. It doesn't lead to misery. Misery is the complete opposite of self-interest. What you describe would be irrational and self-destructive egoism. When you say: "Every year, millions of people think they know better than anyone else, and thus become insufferable" Well, right back at you sir. If you must know, I'll be thinking rationally about a lot of other things too. Maybe you want to deduce that I'm a horrible person from this equation I solved?

As long as it doesn't give me funny viruses or stuff like that I'm fine with loading them, it doesn't slow down my loading or connection or anything, and I'm a guest on their website that they pay money for the domain for, and to keep the site up and stuff like that.

I also think Elly the elephant should still cry when ads are being blocked, I love seeing her (even though I have no adblocking software at all, she still pops up every once in awhile for some reason <3).

I did block the adds at the beginning but I excluded TL some time ago because of the streamers that make a living from it. Is there a version of TL where you can pay 5 bucks or so and get to watch the site add free ?

Also, I can't believe people took it seriously that TL thought blocking ads "Hurt ESPORTS." Jesus Christ. Like that hasn't been a running joke in the community for six months now. I can't believe they removed the ESPORTS Elephant because people legitimately took offense. Jesus Christ.
