2. the content of ads is generally not a celebration of the intelligence of man. Quite the contrary.

I am definitely willing subscribe to teamliquid, like paying a monthly fee; sure they deserve it. I do that for other websites, like news sites. I suggest that TL organizes this (if you are a subscriber, we suppress ads for you). But no ads sorry

It's depressing to read the shit people come up with to justify blocking ads.

If you are one of the 1,5% that uses Opera and you don't want to hurt esports here's what you need to do:
- open teamliquid.net
- right click somewhere on the screen
- pick "Edit site preferences" from the drop down menu (2nd one from the bottom).
- go to "Content" tab.
- uncheck "Enable content blocking" that's checked on by default.

i don't block ads and i try to watch my streams Via TL. Great way to support E sports and TL. Also, it is more convenient and supports the greatest gaming community website ever.

But i sometimes see the ad putting crying Elly and i am afraid that the firefox update caused me to adblock TL..But it does not

the very purpose of ad block is to remove ads while browsing the sites you like to browse. it's so simple and has nothing to do with hating esports
it's really kind of like switching the channel during commercials during your favorite tv show. and i know you all do that

Well, as a reaction to this I added TL to my Adblock Whitelist. Those few ads won’t kill me and if it helps you a lot, well, here you are.

I have always wondered how much revenue these adds generate. So Nazgul, if i may ask, can you share any rough info how much revenue TL gets from all the adds? I assume buying TL stuff (shirts etc) is "better" way to contribute to the community & Teamliquid?

To be honest, as Macpo said, monthly fee/subscribing system would be really good idea IMO. I wonder what TL peeps think about it? Lets say you won't get any adds if you subscribe, i wonder would it be significant increase on the revenue this way compared to keeping the adds on?

I block ads, no exceptions, I don't want or need to justify it, they annoy me and I will not be guilted into watching them for any cause.
Create a voluntary subscription for TL and I'm the first to buy it <3

They charge $1.69 for music that costs 0c to reproduce. I have no regrets pirating music.

I do buy the music i enjoy, though.

Well I won't come down to such a level of discussion, but I have to say it makes me a bit wondering about TL to know that mods are actually acting like this.
Having said that, I don't see why making a subscription fee wouldn't be a respectable option to consider; I have seen many websites proposing this "ads vs fee" exchange, and it seemed to work for them. You should even make more money, which seems to be your goal here; as this fee would be nothing but an extra option.

You really need to read the 10 commandments to put the mods behavior in perspective. Their house, they are not gonna kick themselves out for being rude. You come to their house and be rude, then you arent welcome. Something like that.
