why would the initial driver just run over a kid like that.. that second driver, ... i guess he could say he didnt see him or something (which is very fkin stupid since its obvious as hell) which might be a slight.. tiny.. minuscule excuse but that first person is dumb.. as for all the other people who go past.. fkin idiots..

Thank god I didn't click that link after reading the comments here.

Something is just wrong. People in families take care of each other. Friends take care of each other. Back in the days tribes took care of their members. But when society gets bigger than family/friends/tribes it all breaks down.

We have to remember that caring for total strangers is something new. It's just a hundred years ago that the world was completely different. I guess this new view on humanity comes with wealth and security, but it hasn't reached the third world yet for obvious reasons, not to mention it's still largely absent in the western world.

the first driver take a mobile when he drive, he know he crush a child, he can stop, but he did'nt, so he keep driving, let the back tire cross the child.
why? coz in China you kill a people in accident may pay 200,000 Yuan, but if you hurt a people in serious injured, you may pay 500,000 Yuan. So there is one word in driver, kill people better than hurt them.

That's what strucked me as the strangest of all about this. The driver is actually better off if the child dies. So he actually benefits from "finishing the job" so to speak.

Nothing surprises me anymore.. Hopefully the drivers will die,, they have death as penalty in china right? They'll probably just get a fine though.. *sigh*
We promise with a view to hope, but the reason to "accomplish" what we promised would be fear.

I'm not going to click the link. Because one of my nearest in my life is 3 years old, and the other is 1.

But stuff like this is so beyond fucked up. How can people not help? :/

yes, maybe you know the YaoJia Xin case couple month ago, a university student drive his car crush a women on the road, then he kill her with a knife, leave 8 hole on the body. I think he want "finish the job", but he is so frighten..maybe stupid...., he choose the knife instead of crush 2nd times, so he was judge to die.

why would the initial driver just run over a kid like that..

in China, when you hit someone while driving
if he/she is dead, u have to pay at most 5k$ to the family of victim...
but again, if he/she is badly injured, you might have to pay 100k$, due the medical expenses are so high in China...

Once I was in Chengdu/Chongqin, and i talked with a taxi-driver, i was joking with him like "woow the traffic is so chaotic here, how can you drive here full-timely" he was like "yeah, i know but i have to feed my family you know, i hope i wont hit anybody, but if i hit someone, i hope he would be dead, otherwise my life is ruined"... it took alot time until i understood what he meant.

I have talked with alot drivers in China, all of them are poorly payed and overworked.

"victim better be dead" became a common sense in China.

First of all the guy driving the initial truck should be sent to jail, There is no way he couldn't have noticed. This is disgusting and inhumane.

I tried to find a positive in all of this and kind of did. We should not be worried about china emerging as a new powerhouse on international scene. If they are scared to risk their welfare by helping a small child they will never again wage a war of any kind. Those cowards are completely impotent which is a huge relief in regards to international politics.

I noticed that the little girl was still alive and moving its hand when the old lady arrived. Means it must be a long suffering.

I have tears in my eyes watching this. This is just so fucked up. Fuck this world...

ya their justice system is.

If you knew you risked going to jail for helping her would you ? no you wouldn't. I wouldn't want to risk being charged with murder either...

I can't believe Chinese laws allows this. In Denmark, you have a law that clearly states, that if you do not help those who are in severe danger, without risking your own life of course, you will be charged like a criminal and receive up to 2 years of jail time. All these people just driving and walking by would be in serious trouble if this was in Denmark

I feel very sorry for the kid but you can't really blame the people. If your laws punish the good samiritans, people very quickly learn not to be one.
