We are extremely close to shutting down this thread for the same reasons the PUA thread was shut down. While some of the time this thread contains actual discussion with people asking help and people giving nice advice, it often gets derailed by rubbish that should not be here. The moderation team will be trying to steer this thread in a different direction from now on.
Posts of the following nature are banned: 1) ANYTHING regarding PUA. If your post contains the words 'alpha' or 'beta' or anything of that sort please don't hit post. 2) Stupid brags. You can tell us about your nice success stories with someone, but posts such as 'lol 50 Tinder matches' are a no-no. 3) Any misogynistic bullshit, including discussion about rape culture. 4) One night stands and random sex. These are basically brags that invariably devolve into gender role discussions and misogynistic comments.
Last chance, guys. This thread is for dating advice and sharing dating stories. While gender roles, sociocultural norms, and our biological imperative to reproduce are all tangentially related, these subjects are not the main purpose of the thread. Please AVOID these discussions. If you want to discuss them at length, go to PMs or start a blog. If you disagree with someone's ideologies, state that you disagree with them and why they won't work from a dating standpoint and move on. We will not tolerate any lengthy derailments that aren't directly about dating. |

If you are not a very good cook try something like confit de canard. Very tasty, very easy to make, and a lot of people never tries it before (at least in my country).

She's gluten intolerant and had never eaten a moelleux au chocolate before. It's my favourite dessert so I thought that was unacceptable. So we made a glutenfree one. Turns out it's really easy to make, and the result was quite good. Date tip for everyone, no need to be a good cook or anything I'm gonna try fine dining cooking date for the first time, she's in charge of dessert tho. Still not sure what to go for, for sure a michelin star restaurant type recipe that takes 2 people to prepare - tips for that? Haha, no, sorry, I'm not a good cook by any means, the moelleux just seemed like a fun date and nothing too complicated, and it was! Yeah she's doing a complicated dessert And I've figured out what I want - FLAMBE! Doing research on what to set on fire though. When chefs come on talk shows they do that a lot just for flash, I think that'll be a cool date excitement added

Two things to remember: 1) Don't use too much alcohol (or too little for that matter). 2) Don't hesitate when you ignite and ignite at the edge.

lol no. What luck. I have been forsaken. But apparently Im not as bad as my friend.
Im pretty much giving up this whole game until later :/

What makes your friend so bad? And forsaken?

Ok we have this thing called "好人卡" which is pretty much a rejection letter but starting off "You are a nice person, but..."
He used to go to a school that used to be an all-girls school, that changed right before he went.
Guy to girl was something like 1:20 or some dumb shit. Even the toilets were 1:5. So instead of being the guy who gets all the girls, he became something of a "girl-friend", and received a ton of those rejection letters. Basically friendzoned by entire school lol. Hes actually a pretty cool guy, knows a lot of shit, been to a lot of places and all that. But hes been rejected so much I dont think he has feelings anymore lol.
Me Im somewhat similar. Im something of a foreigner here, despite being Taiwanese and everything. Im a Third Culture Kid, and I simply dont identify with the locals enough. Meeting girls I actually identify with is tough enough, let alone finding one Im willing to date lol. Maybe my standards are too high, but I simply dont find dating for the sake of dating itself to be worth it.
Fun story - I went to a temple recently with some friends so they can ask for "relationship blessing" from the local God or something. I doubt anyone truly believes that stuff, but hey, whatever helps right? I got one for fun and basically receiving a message from "God" that says "Asking for a relationship here the way you currently are now is like looking for a fish on a tree."
So apparently Im being mocked by god now LOL
I dont really care that much anymore since Id rather be alone than go through a ton of shitty relationships. Its either the one I really connect with or none at all.

|
You ask the girl out first before receiving that letter man! Itll be too cruel if girls just randomly sent that letter out LOL "Hey I dont like you at all, dont bother asking me out if you were considering it"
Nah I do try to hangout and chat with the girls, Im pretty sociable when I need to be, and try to get to know people better instead of just shooting the breeze. I guess I make dumb mistakes now and then but that should be true for everyone though. I really just havent met one I really connect with...yet.
EDIT: should not have wrote "tried really hard", I dont do that.

I actually find the "good person cards/ hao ren ka" really hilarious. I did not know that they were called those.
Btw it might interest you that down here in Singapore there is an entire legion of guys who fantasize about getting a Taiwanese girlfriend/
|
Oh god man help yourselves here. The girls here are all looking for relationships too if they arent in one already.
Ah yeah I should have included that - 好人卡 is pronounced Hao Ren Ka - Hao = good, Ren = person, Ka = card.

On a somewhat unrelated note.
A while ago in this thread I talked about how my friend and his girlfriend wanted me to potentially date one of her friends. At that point I thought her name was something like Isabelle or something, and I worked out that she wasn't living in my city. She lived 90 km away and since I didn't want a long distance relationship I didn't want to date her, there was quite a debate about it but I was happy with my choice of not going for it.
So the news is that the girl I was thinking of was not the girl they had in mind. The girl they were thinking about did live very near me. So I basically got mind-fucked and said no to a potential date thinking it was not going to work out from the start. However I'm not sure if this is a after-construction though.

Who cares, when you're trying stuff out it's better to date away from your social circle, so there's no pressure if you screw up imo.

Or happening for that matter, it used to drive me crazy! But all the girls look like supermodels with how they dress/makeup I guess that's why they are sought after.
My current girlfriend has seen a few people arrive from Taiwan to Prague for a honeymoon (Groom, Bride, and theit gay friend for some reason) and it was the same - they looked like Kpop models :D

It is called 'nice guy' card, which originated from English lol. Tonnes of meme of it back then, literally comes from the centuries old 'look you are a nice guy but...'
Just out of curiosity and I might be able to provide some insight, what is your ethical background, colour of skin (how tanned you are) and height.
Taiwan to me is like the top3 countries in Asia that I would consider getting a wife from, the 'game' level is certainly higher there but the quality of the girls are worthy.

I think this idea that somehow Asian women (from whatever culture) make better wives is such a hopelessly naive pursuit.
