We are extremely close to shutting down this thread for the same reasons the PUA thread was shut down. While some of the time this thread contains actual discussion with people asking help and people giving nice advice, it often gets derailed by rubbish that should not be here. The moderation team will be trying to steer this thread in a different direction from now on. Posts of the following nature are banned: 1) ANYTHING regarding PUA. If your post contains the words 'alpha' or 'beta' or anything of that sort please don't hit post. 2) Stupid brags. You can tell us about your nice success stories with someone, but posts such as 'lol 50 Tinder matches' are a no-no. 3) Any misogynistic bullshit, including discussion about rape culture. 4) One night stands and random sex. These are basically brags that invariably devolve into gender role discussions and misogynistic comments. Last chance, guys. This thread is for dating advice and sharing dating stories. While gender roles, sociocultural norms, and our biological imperative to reproduce are all tangentially related, these subjects are not the main purpose of the thread. Please AVOID these discussions. If you want to discuss them at length, go to PMs or start a blog. If you disagree with someone's ideologies, state that you disagree with them and why they won't work from a dating standpoint and move on. Referring to them (although possibly joking) as "classy bitches" might be your first problem. I have found to have the most success either through friends or social activities/sports as that guarantees some common ground above mere attraction. When I moved to SF and didn't have the luxury of either I would shop around the different bars - usually each neighbourhood in a city will attract different types and it is thus mostly a question of finding the "right" neighbourhood for you, although for this to work you probably shouldn't go out with the mindset of finding a future girlfriend but rather a future friend/social circle through which you can THEN get a girlfriend (who might very well end up being the same as the friend/person introducing you to the circle). The bar method is not really all that easy though. I had to force myself to go out in the beginning as it takes a little confidence and a fairly big amount of luck. Luckily people are very easy to get into a conversation with in the US, so that at least helps. Best of luck  | ||

College is probably the best place to meet girls. Also if you actually use the term classy bitches, consider stopping. I don't think there are anything wrong with movie dates if the girl likes movies. If they don't, then yes movies can be terrible. | ||

The best thing you can do is branch out and find girls in public spots like Starbucks and restaurants if this doesn't work. I don't mean bars, I mean like, you see a pretty girl walk in and she is all alone or with a group of friends who are girls, you can always drop by when she is in line or waiting and say, "Hey, I really think you're gorgeous, and if you're going here (insert the name of the place) you have good taste. I don't want to miss the chance to ask out a girl as great as you, so here's my # call if you want, I gotta go and eat ." and then give them your phone number and leave  . Cheesy but effective. | ||

But then I gave up on love, and now I am sad but do not have to suffer disappointment anymore from crushed expectations, as I have no expectations. I wouldn't advise this for anyone though, hope is what keeps a human going forward. | ||

Its a great place to have conversations with the ladies. Its not as loud as the bar scene and all the Meatheads are occupied with attempting 500lb bench presses. | ||

Solo moms tend to be looking for a guy who can take over the fatherly role. It would be bad if they dated around and the child experienced the mom not sticking to one person, it tends to produce irregularities in the household and it can be bad for children. Also, single moms tend to understand that the fact that they have a kid is a huge turnoff to guys in many cases, not just for the obvious facts that the kid costs money and is not the man's own, but also for the fact that, more unconsciously speaking, the man wants to produce his own generations and not worry about helping continue on the lineage of another man's successful continuation (that would be strictly from the point of view of a biological psychologist at least). Solomoms do have a kind of mature sexyness to them, and not all girls mature fast, some look their best in their mid 30-s to 40-s when everyone else is falling off, but they just hit their peak. | ||
