"Long before his soul was fused with that of the orc shaman Ner'zhul, the Lich King was Arthas Menethil..." i'm pretty sure my memory of playing WC3 tells me that the acolytes always said when they spawned "my life for Ner'zhul". also since i was an undead player, the lore character, Ner'zhul, was a badass so i had to look him up. what i looked up at the time was that he was a lich's soul that went into a dead orc shaman, this all happened WAY before Arthas... so what the fuck am i missing here?

And that's ok though, because as I said before, the actual Warcraft story is very very immersive. So as long as they don't take a totally random direction and divert from everything Warcraft has stood for, I think it will be worth the ticket price. No Uwe is enough for me.

He got killed (I guess), but his spirit was still serving to the Burning Legion. So Burning Legion decided to give Ner'Zul a task to destroy azeroth by giving him powers to make undead and spread the plague. He was sent there and put in a "casket" (the frozen throne). Then he made Arthas come to him at Northrend and they have mutated into one Lich King abomination. sort of.

I'm pretty sure the gramatical error is what's tripping you out. Should be: Long before his soul was fused with the orc shaman Nerzul. The Lich King was ONCE KNOWN as Arthas Menethil. Also, you are reading it out of context. Dont just post one sentence from a paragraph so you can cut it down for no reason. + Show Spoiler + Long before his soul was fused with that of the orc shaman Ner'zhul, the Lich King was Arthas Menethil, crown prince of Lordaeron and faithful paladin of the Silver Hand. When a plague of undeath threatened all that he loved, Arthas was driven to pursue an ill-fated quest for a runeblade powerful enough to save his homeland. Yet the object of his search would exact a heavy price from its new master, beginning a horrifying descent into damnation. Arthas's path would lead him through the arctic northern wastes toward the Frozen Throne, where he would face, at long last, the darkest of destinies. makes perfect sense.

I think this is a poetic way of saying he was destined to be the Lich King, as far as I can tell. Only way that it would make sense.

On September 11 2011 00:47 futsel wrote: yeah somewhere it was said that the WoW: Lich King trailer took 8 months to make. That's just 2 minutes. Imagine now 2 hours. 40 years? :D I'd argue with that. The first original WoW has opened the lore even more. There were many amazing stories there: Onyxia at SW, Ancient Gods & Ragnaros, the Silithids. But after that one: yeah, it kinda got weird. Outland was ok but not great. BTW: It was an official Blizzard statement that the movie is going to be covering events before wow. And wow was 10 years after the wc3. If I'd spend some time I'd find that official post by blizz, but I'm kinda lazy. Know that info is legit and there's gonna be no late-wow shinnanigans! Only early lol. I'm not a 'CGI expert' but I'm pretty sure most Blizzard cinematics don't use actors, costumes, props, green screens or even one camera. It is 100% computer-generated graphics. The rendering is what takes time. Again, I'm no expert, and my only source is the cinematics panels from the Blizzcons I have attended.
