My favorite essential mix isn't actually just one show, but Paul Oakenfold's essential mix tour back in 1999. Amazing mixes from back in the day. As for a more current EM, I still like Markus Schulz's essential mix from 2008, although I'm more a trance/progressive person.

Essential Mix by Dimitri from Paris isn't too shabby. Same for both Swedish House Mafia mixes. Actually SHM isn't just not shabby, it's GREAT.
