Now I kind of realize that with things you like, other people catching on and enjoying them is actually a really good thing. Not only do the artists make more money, which they deserve, you share a lot more with the people you meet and interact with.

I even feel it myself sometimes, like when a band becomes popular I used to be like "Oh that's gay, I liked them before anyone blah blah blah," my idea being that I was the first to have ever known about them and that somehow made me special. It is a bit annoying when people start to "enjoy" the same things you do when they're the type of people you don't want to be grouped with, and because they like the same things you do now, you inevitably are.

Muse have the most messed up fanbase I've ever seen, and the reason why is because Matthew Bellamy went from being a blend of Chopin and The Smashing Pumpkins, to U2 arena pop/rock. I got into the band during the Black Holes era, because I was recommended to listen to them, but I mainly like the older albums. The fans of the early period, see the later albums as a sell-out, while the fans of the new material see the early material as "Matt's crazy period", without really understanding it. Most ppl don't get Origin of Symmetry, but to me it makes more sense than any album I've listened to, because the sounds on that album is the same as the voices I hear in my head.

I honestly never heard of them until like theo ther day. They are pretty good actually. But think about it bro, what band is going to be a band for just a few months and win new artist of the year, bands take years and years of practice together before they can be groundbreaking.

I think that there are two types of nerds: The first type of nerd is the socially inept dork. The second type of nerd I'm not really sure how to describe, but i think this nerd is a hipster at heart, since the nerd is never the most popular and therefore never quite follows the most popular things. I'm having trouble putting my mind to words. thoughts?
