thinking of a new problem...thinking of a new problem........ You are in a castle. You walk up to two doors blocked by 2 guards. Behind one door is a beautiful princess. Behind the other door is a lion. You dont know which is which. One guard always tells the truth, the other always lies, you also dont know which is which. You may ask one question and then you have to choose a door. What is your question to get to the princess? This one isnt too bad. Someone should get this by the morning, so I'll post another question, which is pretty fun. You decide to have a dinner party. You invite your father's brother in law, your brother's father in law, your father in law's brother, and your brother in law's father. What is the minimum number of people you invite to your dinner party? Try to draw a family tree, even though it may be kind of difficult.

The first problem I know so, I won't answer For the second problem, I guess one person could be all these at once without even needing any incestuous wedding or consanguinity..

You can pick a door and ask either one "If i asked you if this door lead to the princess, would your answer have been yes?" the truthteller will always tell u the right answer, the liar's hypothetical lie will be countered by his second lie about his statement and tell u the truth~ ****************************************end of spoiler*******************************************

Hahahahahahaha That has to be the funniest argument I have ever heard used against me. I think this just made my day. On November 25 2004 21:53 baal wrote: and i insulted cayou.... On November 25 2004 21:53 baal wrote: yeah im answering what the question was suppoused to be, if it wasnt obvious enough, someone reposted it in the first pages of this huge thread. Couldn't you fucking just say that earlier ? :p It's obvious and we have already agreed (and I've already posted this around page 12) that if the question was "one of the 2 childs is a girl, what is the other ?" the answer is of course 2/3 boy.

SPOILERS Here's how you do it. Your grandparents have 2 boys and 1 girl (which one is going to open the door ? :p). You are the child of the girl, and married to the child of one of your mother's brothers. You have a brother and a sister. Your sister is married to the boy of your mother's other brother, your brother is married to his daughter. There you have it ![]()

Wife's Father's Brother = Wife's Brother's Father Eliminate the wives Father's Brother = Brother's Father Father's Brother = Father

Your brother in law is not the your wife's brother, he's your sister's husband.

I cant decide whether or not the liar will first lie to himself about the conditional argument then lie about the question or whether he will just answer the question right away. regardless, im very impressed by your answer hwoaran

You ask one guard: Where would the other guard say the beautiful princess is? And then you take the opposite door.
