When I plug it into my computer sometimes there is static/off sound. I need to twist the plug around a little bit to get optimal signs. Is that indicative of a problem? Should I RMA them back to amazon? Try plugging it into something else like an iPod. If its still there, there's probably something wrong with the jack/wiring. Best to RMA it then.

I plugged it into my ipod and twisted it a bunch and no difference in sound. So I guess it is my computer, good thing I didn't RMA!

edit: I've also looked at the Sennheiser HD 25-1 II. They look really simple but I hear they are really good but I'm a bit skeptical. Does anyone have these and could anyone compare their performance to the two headphones I mentioned above?

They are both closed headphones and have really good reviews. I've seen the M50 on ebay for 124.99 from what seems to be a reliable seller and the HD 448 on amazon for 99.99. Which would be the better choice for a college student who would be transporting his headphones almost everyday from my dorm to the library? Suggestions for other headphones are also welcome, though I really want some closed headphones that are portable enough to put in my backpack and be fine. I previously used Sony MDR-v6 headphones which were amazing but I ended up breaking them. edit: I've also looked at the Sennheiser HD 25-1 II. Was never a fan of pleather pads since they become unbearable during summer. Imo, I might go with the M50's since I've head from a friend that the 448's sound dull and flat. Another portable pair that's worth checking out are the ATH-ES7. If you need an audition the nearest Audio Technica or Apple Store might have a pair.

They are built like tanks, what did you do lol Did you like the sound signature of the V6? I heard M50s were quite bit different, less mids and highs, but more of the lower end, in a good way of course I heard the HD25s are really good, but they are more expensive then the others though I never tried them though D: And just got my FiiO E3 :> and they sound great paired with my Yuin PK2s :> Just that added oomph in the bass and lower end is nice~ Although on some songs I prefer it without the amp because it feels a bit too dark Didn't like it too much on my MDR 7506s though Brought down the sharp highs a bit too much, and I like the sharp characteristics of those cans~ Although some could argue that would be better haha

I dont really feel like buying another pair of v6s because i want to upgrade. The sound in the v6 was really good, but I'd like a larger soundstage. I broke them while I was sleeping. It fell off my bed and got stuck behind my bed in between the bedframe and the headboard. The headband thing was bent and the plug broke as it was hooked up to my laptop. The right speaker plastic snapped and the metal on the inside was kinda bent. I tried bringing to guitar center to fix it but it was too much of a hassle. Anyways, I'm probably going to buy the m50s, but I can't find a place to buy them except for ebay and I don't completely trust eBay.

Klipsh s4's are great, they come highly recommended. I work out in them all the time with no problem. cheers ![]()

Perhaps you people can help me out, I have a very specific set of needs that never seem to be met. In order of importance to me ... 1. Must be good for music (listen to music as I game so a "gaming headset" is not really required..) that being said .. 2. They must have a detachable/retractable mic. I simply hate mics you can't hide when in use, and I need a mic when I play games and skype and stuff. 3. Must have a tough cord, this is the part I always manage to break in headphones and I'm sick of stripping the wire and soldering the connections back together (especially around the connectors to the headphone itself, and the connection to the computer where they bend/break easily) 4. Must have 3.5mm audio jacks so I can use it with my phone and stuff. 5. Prefer Stereophones, those virtual 7.1 things dont tend to sound too good. 6. Like open headsets better than closed, I like to be at least semi-aware of my surroundings even while gaming, and with open ones even if I wanna close myself off I can just turn up the volume. edit: Good bass would be nice, but I know this is tough for headphones. As for price Im pretty flexible, please something thats not shitty ![]()

Now that I use them for my PC since my old shitty PC headset hurts my head, I might also get a pair of Um2s or 3s for listening to music.

I don't really know anything about headsets but I expected this 60€ green one to work well. However, it's OK with my iPod.
