The 600 Ohm version has been established to have the best sound. You would need a desktop amplifier to get the best sound. Most amplifiers below 1000 USD will not be very transparent and add hints of coloration but I doubt you're looking for that sort of fidelity. I recommend the E7 and E9 combo. The E9i also can function as a iPod dock. Remember the 1/8th rule. Always make sure the output impedance of the headphone amplifier is at the LEAST 1/8th the impedance of the headphone. I might be wrong, but I was under the impression from reading NwAvGuy's blogs that you want the output impedance of the amplifier to be at most 1/8 the impedance of the headphone, not at least 1/8. That's why he designed his O2 to have very low output impedance, so that it would be compatible with just about any headphone.

It's all under 20$ so no big deal just my opinion. Maybe you'll have better luck with the m16s

Recently I want to buy a new headphone for my phone with blue tooth and I found Sennheiser - PX210 BT:But I have a question. Is it that bluetooth headphone has much poorer sound quality? How about this one? Thank you.

Tyll (from Headroom and one of my favorite people on the planet) and his review on these and how they compare (or don't really) to the K701s, as well as the K702s, AKG's flagship at the moment. ![]() ![]() ![]()

what are those 3 boxes on your desk for? I'm assuming they are amps/dacs and all that, could you go into a bit more detail?

Bottom is the Audio-GD COmpass (amp/dac, Class A), above is my M-Audio 410 interface for mic/instrument, and on top is the Cambridge Audio 540p preamp for the turntable.

You might want to try the AKG K550. Many popular reviewers are claiming as the new flag ship trumping the K701/2
