How do they really stack up though? I don't understand what you're asking. Whenever someone needs a recommendation around $100, I'm already thinking of the AD700s. They're very clear winners in their price range. Unless they have specific needs like bass heavy/portability, the AD700s are almost always my recommendation.
Obviously cans higher in price beat them, but that shouldn't be any surprise (well, I guess Beats lose to them).

For your purpose (guitary music/guitar reproduction) I'd definitely stick with the Grados. Unless you decided overnight that you love electronica/hip hop.
After a bit of research and your recommendations i'm quite sure the sound of the Grados/Alessandros are what i am looking for. My only concern now is how comfortable the headphones will be, because i have found only limited information about that issue. So does anyone have any first hand experience with wearing these types for extended periods of time and could share his oppinion?

They're pretty lightweight and if you get a hard clamp you could always stretch out the headband. The Bowl pads that come with the Grado's can be a bit uncomfortable but you can get some Comfy pads to replace them with (or Sennheiser HD414 pads) which are cheaper if you don't mind the yellow color.
One tip with the Grado bowl pads is to crunch them up in your hands before use. They end up softer and slightly more comfy

I got a steelseries siberia V2 for christmas, and before that had TurtleBeach x11's. These steelseries are amazing, very lightweight and crisp sound, the sound blocking is also awesome. Haven't really used the mic yet though.

Got me the Sennheiser RS170 for x-mas.
The sound is prettehdamn good (to my non-audiophile ears), no difference compared to my old wired sennheisers.
The closed ear caps drown out a good portion of the outside sound, and with some tunes or a movie on, you could probably drive a car into my house and I wouldn't notice.
The common complaint about the buttons on the headset that pops up in reviews is (imo) bullshit unless you have aren't able to distinguish them (and you can..), theres 2 small buttons to the "front" for bass/surround, then moving back the first button is the lower volume, then all the way in the back is the up-volume and inbetween the power on/off. And I've no trouble using them with the headset on.
A somewhat negative point tho is that the headband feels kind of loose, the ear cups don't pressure much which means they slip off if you rest your head on something or against something. On the positive side of that, after a while you forget you even have them on in the first place. I guess that's just one of them tradeoffs.
Overall very happy with them. Can put on my tunes and move around the house in most portions (untill I get around 3-4 thick concrete walls between the sender and myself. I guess the US cardboard-wall houses allow for a fairly longer distance between sender-reciever ;p

Frequency range or frequency response? Of course I'd rather see more published information, but it's uncommon for anybody to publish frequency response data. Frequency range (e.g.16Hz - 26 kHz) is quite obviously useless without any information about relative amplitudes at all those frequencies in whatever it is they want to quote for the range, and that's generally what most list.

I have a Razer Carcharias headset, but i don't like it very much, so right now im using some Tt-esport Isurus, which are great (:

Yeah this seems to be a pretty common theme with the sr60s. When i got my m50s at first i stretched them out over a stack of books for a day or two while i burned them in which helped (not that i really find my m50s to be uncomfortable and my head is a little big)

129€ beats by dre monster "Lady GaGa Heartbeats" Most likely worth 50-60€ and sold for 129 because it's beats + lady gaga branded... People should know better but they evidently don't =(

i have a pair of the BOSE IE2 earbuds. i use them pretty much all the time, theyre quite durable for some pretty decent sound quality(i dont use them for mixing though, i use some crazy good ones at the studio, these are just my casual pair). plus i only spent like, 80 bucks on em.

I'm looking for 3.5 mm headphones that are open (not closed) that are also durable (maybe lasts at least 1+ year on average; I've used a lot of headphones and most lasts only a few months >.<).
I'm just using it for computer/TV and some music. Not too crazy stuff but as long as it has okay sound and lasts a year or more on average.
Any suggestions? Any price range (well around $100 max) is fine as long as they really do last long.

I voted for mid-level level music headphones, used to have Hd555s with my titanium HD, but I just ordered a pair of DT880 600ohm and a LittleDot MKIII so I guess im not part of that category anymore

Like decafchicken suggested, go with the AD700. There's pretty much no equal around the $100 range.
And lol at the responses to the Beats guy(s).
