the highlight of manchurian is when denzel pucnhes a guy in the face. of course it doesnt even effect the plot at all. u dont even know who that guy is. u never see him again. and u dont give a shit about them. any of them. all the chars dont exist. it's like watching paint dry. i am pretty sure everyone walked out of the theater disappointed. im surprised ppl are saying it's good. it seems like they really ran out of time or money on that one cuz they took a bunch of good actors and a potential for a real movie and they released something that is below average on the watchability scale and attempts to be artsy to an amaturish level with the camera work.

Also, I'm sure all you Michael Mann fans will agree with me that "Heat" was a better movie (He directed that also). Well, thats obvious, Heat was an epic movie with possibly some of the best actors in the last 30 years (de Niro, Pacino, Kilmer) Collateral was a good movie, but it didnt have the budget, actors, or overall plot/setup to be anything more than a more than decent movie. I still liked Collateral though, really fun movie to watch with a bad guy you want to root for.

I mean it was entertaining but damn there funny how they tried to pass this off as a serious intense thriller or some shit. They got tom cruise goin around like he a super villian or something, i kept on thinking he shoulda been in Spider man 2. How he gonna get into a car accident where the car flips like 10 times then get out and walk away like its nothing. Then he gonna get shot in the face or shoulder (wherever the fuck it was) then act unphazed. Then the whole damn movie he showin off his skills as a hitman, doing tumbles on the floor and doing all this pin point shooting and at the end of the movie Jamie Foxx (a damn cab driver) gonna out gun him when they face to face, wtf sense does that make? And also i thought hitmen supposed to be covert like and stealthy, this cat tom cruise just walking into clubs with his guns blazing... shooting people in public. Dont even wear a mask... throwing people out of windows.. going from one killing to the next like its nothing. After the club shooting he drove away in a taxi without a single cruiser following his ass... how realistic is that shit, they had the whole damn police unit up in there and he still went in to kill the guy, and left. I was actually laughing at this. Then at the end of the movie Jamie Foxx walking off with jada, im thinking "where the hell is he going? after all the stuff he did (pulled a gun on an officer) and partly an accomplice to all the kilings...) he definitely gonna have some explaining to do downtown at the police station. But no, just like hollywood wants, he ends the movie having captured jada pinkett's heart... Baahahah, while i really enjoyed the movie like everyone else, every single thing youve said here is exactly right. I thought about half of those things after the movie ended, but its all true. However the movie was still acted and filmed well, and thats what i liked most about it. And they actually made LA look like LA. Half the movies that come out are filmed in the same areas but the dazzle em all up you could never tell what glamourous city they took place in. Only other gripe i had was the lack of silencer use. Using a full on glock or whatever on the thugs sending sonic booms through the alley, while realistic in sound, too risky to try. You would think a real assasin would use a silencer for everything, like Antonio and Sylvester in "Assasins". Now theres a good hitman movie.
