Reduces the harshness on your eyes from the monitor while magnifying the screen a bit. Pretty nice. Definitely a luxury item that isn't "necessary" for gaming but if you have the disposable cash they add a bit of aid. That or you can sit with your face 1 ft from the screen.

half the comments in this thread make no sense, especially about the 'small changes' and 'markup' of these glasses. protip: most popular products aren't brand new, but an improvement over existing products. actually i think these glasses are a good idea. if you have ever worn a headset and glasses for any noticeable period of time, your ears will hurt cause the headset pushes them against the frame that goes behind your ear. if this alleviates that, it would be a welcome change. having a lighter frame is also useful. anti-glare is good too obv. the stuff about eye relaxation i don't buy (luckily the other 3 properties i mentioned are easily quantifiable), but a placebo effect is just as good. overall i think it's a good package the 'markup' isn't even large, since typical frames cost more than that. i'm actually worried these are on the cheap side construction-wise and will break if you drop them or something. but yeah, i don't see the reason for the hate. too bad they're ugly as sin though

I think they look kinda cool, but I would have to try them before I even consider buying them. GUNNAR actually has a ton of glasses with lens like these. The only thing new here is that these are steelseries branded.

But how are these better than normal glasses? ..Or glasses with a bit of sun blocking (light reflection)?

I find it funny that stuff like this get bashed, while people jizz over the latest mouse flash is using. I think they look kinda cool, but I would have to try them before I even consider buying them. GUNNAR actually has a ton of glasses with lens like these. The only thing new here is that these are steelseries branded. I gave my honest opinion, and I don't differ from iNcontroL's statement I own a pair, they work, but dont really make a big difference, its not a lifesaver, it won't help me game for 2 more hours a day, because I'll stop gaming for reasons other than eye strain. Nevertheless they look weird and are embarassingly bad colored. They can come in other tints but I think the claim is that the yellow is best, but in the end the look of the galsses is NOT stylish whatsoever. You're commenting on everything bashing it if they haven't tried it but you esem to be praising it without having tried it lol. Trust me, I felt odd wearing them with my roommates in the room, they just look terrible haha. I couldn't imagine wearing them outside and having people on the street stare at you for havin gyellow freaking lenses. On October 27 2010 03:45 XsebT wrote: But how are these better than normal glasses? ..Or glasses with a bit of sun blocking (light reflection)? The idea is that it filters out certain of the harsher colors that emit from your screen so that its more soothing, i think its like dark hue's that are lightened up by wearing them. How are they better than normal glasses? Well I can tell you that polarized lenses don't do what these glasses do for a computer/tv monitor. It's not about shading your eyes, its about filtering certain harsher colors out.
