Update: well, turns out, TL drained my dropbox limit (unsure how much yet) within minutes
It's probably been a month since I made my last post on TL, and it's been an interesting experience: just sitting back, and taking in what the forum has to offer, never say anything back, regardless how strong of a reaction you develop.
I meant to post this a lot sooner, but life has been hectic. It's really difficult to find time to post something that has some sort of significance amidst of exams, full time interviews, GRE, and grad school applications. Some went better than others, but generally things are going well.
Initially, I wanted to write a comprehensive guide to touring Japan -- having spent nearly a year there and touring over twenty cities; but it's proven to be a task that is much more time-consuming than I had anticipated and could afford (maybe for my 20,000th post, if I still remember anything by them). As a result, half way through, I decided to post a comprehensive food blog instead. I began doing this some time in June, and anticipated to finish the entire template before September. Unfortunately, my ISP terminated its contract with Flickr, and I lost my pro account, which made everything much more difficult and irksome. Finally, I decided to forgo the Flickr route and try SkyDrive instead. I hope the images are working.
This is only 1/3 - 1/2 of the pictures I have uploaded. Converting it to the TL IMG format is no trivial task, and I plan to do this over the next few days and update this thread as I go.
The first few pictures are taken in South Korea; the other ones should be mostly Japanese cuisine. I tried to arrange them in chronological order, but SkyDrive was really not as photo-friendly as I'd've preferred, so some are inevitably disordered.
There are simply too many for me to comment on every single one, but if you have specific question about specific pictures, I'd be more than happy to provide some background detail.
I am now really really hungry. As everyone else said. I'm probably going to go get something terribly inadequate while i wish i had every single food pictured there.
omg seriously. you think this contributes to the community? do ya? do ya?! all you've done is made a few dozen forum goers crave food like crazy... i hope you're happy for yourself.
I'm Korean but I have such a great respect for Japanese food. Out of all the world cuisines I think its the perfect combination of simplicity and elegance. The sushi pictures were really nice, they reminded me of sukiyabashi jiro in roppongi...Maybe you ate there? That place is really incredible.
grats on 10k man =] also those foods looked godo but I lold at teh burgers, I remember when I lived in China how after a while the luxury of cheap delicious chinese food I would have easily traded for a burger
I'm impressed, some of the food looked really awesome...did you go on some sort of food tour? that would be awesome! I want to know about the stuff that looks like raw steak...was it raw steak?
Man I scrolled through all that delicious and exotic looking food and the thing that really made my eyes pop out of my head was the burger chips + onion rings.. damn that looks tasty!
