Looking at your profile, you have great accuracy but if you want to keep improving you should start playing harder songs. SSing easy stuff is fine, but it's also a sign that you need to play harder maps.

Once I was bored and went to full clear some random 2-3 star map and it was crazy hard, I had to use all my concentration to properly time the notes, for some reason my brain would think I had already clicked on a note so I would just sit there with the mouse over it and not click, or mess up really easy timings, click way too fast, etc. Usually not a problem but sometimes an Insane song will have a slow part and this issue might crop up. Most people have that problem, it's because slow songs are usually rather boring so it's like Click .... Click .... Click Click .... Yawn And people are impatient so they tap earlier than they should For insanes with slowdowns you just have to know the song, usually people will storyboard them or the music changes enough in advance to know when it's coming but ninja slowdown/speedups are the worst.

The ones I hate are where the song doesn't actually change speed but all of a sudden the sliders change from a couple inches into spanning the entire screen and being 10x faster. Always a massive rage on that first play-through when that's the only thing that failed you in an otherwise great sight read. I downloaded one, it took me a few days but it was awesome to have 20+ beatmap packs, and I see this as a perfectly legal use of bittorrenting, thoughts/links on this would be appreciated A central database of osu! torrents would be pretty awesome. I'd love the convenience of something like that. I also think that there should be a lot more artist bundles to make it easier to download all of the . . . say . . . fripside songs (which I just did last week).

Or is it just preference. Spin direction doesn't matter. Pick one direction and stick with it. I prefer holding a button so I don't push the mouse down at all, I just spin, but I suspect it doesn't really matter that much.

Obviously, there's no physical aspect to it, and the timing windows just seem so wide. The difference between passing a hard song and scoring well on it just seems to be four or five play throughs.

I can pass, say, Parade pretty easily, but fcing it would be way way harder.

Very few players can score well on a "hard song" in just four or five playthroughs because of how scoring works in this game...I can "pass" a lot of hard songs with like 70% accuracy too, getting 95%+ FCs on stuff like Kanbu and Mei is a whole different story. The timing windows are large on some maps depending on what OA and AR they use, OA 10 is a fairly strict timing window and AR 10 comes in stupidly fast. I disagree with it being an easier rhythm game, it's not as hard as ITG/PIU/IIDX but it's definitely harder than GH/RB/DDR.
