MY recommendation for not getting killed by Hulkageddon is to away after from the areas near Rens and Hek. B A N E has been killing hulks left and right around there.

This. My corp's home station is only a couple jumps from Hek. So usually I drop myself in a belt somewhere and use my alt's Orca to ferry things back and forth as I need. I was previously in a contracting corp that just sold parts and ores to other corps. I made a shitload of cash in that corp. So it's totally overkill for me to be mining solo with a hulk/orca...but I'm the only one really doing any mining for our POS ventures...so hopefully we expand soon and all my fleet bonuses and everything get put to use...

I've gotten sniped by Angels of...Action? I think? I can't remember the corp name for the life of me all of a sudden. That and some random Legion guy hit me last night. Grrr.

JP, for the love of baby Jeebus do NOT train up gallente commandships. I promise you'll thank me. I'm not sure how much SP you've got on that character and how it's distributed, but you'd be much better off training for recons or BS if you're set on sticking with Gallente, or with training up projectile turrets if you're not.

GC is now going back to Wolfpack roaming and no longer being a 0.0 sov holder (I never figured out what was so profitable about holding sov in Scalding Pass anyway unless you specifically ratted for 2 hours+ a day). Revo would be so proud to hear that we're going back to roaming 23/7 with pretty much everyone KoS is the way Eve should be played.

Edit: Atlas is doing GC the favor of resetting us so Insmother = killlzone *fist pump*. REVO WRU

That's pretty big news O.O! Who's going to take Scalding now? I would love to hear the reasoning behind such decision, and how this affects Liquid specially their recruitment requirements. What will happen to all those Capital pilots now that they don't have a secure region to keep their ships in?

Well, you could always pvp in a drone boat, last I heard the myrm is pretty good. Ishtar if you're a wealthy man(which I'm guessing you are considering you're training for a carrier).

I've been pvping on sisi(testserver) these days and it's AMAZING. FD-MLJ has beacons for ffa's and consensual duels setup. Everything costs 100isk but the real bonus is actually getting into a ship and trying out it's capabilites first hand not just theorycrafting. Eve isn't really a micro intensive game, skill comes from decision making and I think the best idea for getting that feeling is flying ships. Question like, when do I heat which mods, do I orbit or aproach or keep at range, which ships can I take on and what not.

I've flown Vaga: pretty amazing 0.0 ship tbh, just because of the speed and things that come with it.
Cane: words cannot descripe how good this ship actually is. I mean seriously - looks good on paper but is in fact AWESOME once you fly it.
LOKI: this ship doesn't have any good fits tbh, it's not as fast as a vaga, not as dps heavy as a cane. Only thing I've found out is that you can fit it like a drake++ as in 450 dps and 120k ehp shield tank. Same thing can be done for armor tank but that's about it. I guess it's a good utility ship for ganglinks, the web range and possibly probing.

I could self fund two MoM's if I wanted and that's only in pure isk and not counting the absurd amount of expensive modules I have in my possession.

Playing since 03/04 has its advantages.

If you'd been playing for that long, there shouldn't be much we can tell you? The bigger question is why there isn't a carrier alt yet. (hardcore carebear?) I mean really, there is only so much things you can do with subcaps, while jump drives and caps opens up completely different set of options.

Even outside of POS warfare, carriers are handy in WHs escalations, transporting high value goods, Docking games in low/npc space (it takes a blob to kill a carrier that deaggress to dock) hotdrops and the most uber plex boat there is. (if you can get into the gate and someone don't pvp you) ....All that in a insurable package that makes it cost as much as a well fit faction battleship if you lose it.

I'd think carriers are a nice addition to any low or nullsec corp that ever does anything, really. From pve to hauling to POS to gangs to blobs, it can find a role to fit in.

Just because I've played so long doesn't mean I know everything. I have one cap capable character that's flown a supercarrier before... That being said I generally flew carriers in a remote rep format. Sure I know there are other uses but they aren't the easiest of ships to use without logisitical support. Just having a carebear boat has no appeal to me...so unless I use it in a pvp capacity I'd ratjer kep Hyey a subcap pilot.

There is one area in the game I have no experience with. Gallente ships. I have flown a Nyx and that is seriously it.
I've never been a fan of Gallente ships so I've only ever
really used anything drone like in a carrier fighter capacity. That means I really have no clue how to fly a subcap drone boat unless we talk about capital ships.
