OH HAI. CCP Booster here.
So as part of Team Papercuts’ effort to make every EVE player’s life a little better, I was tasked with making it easier to retrieve goodies from wrecks or floating cans. So, uhm, I made a button…. and uh, you can click it….and it LOOTS ALL THE THINGS!!!! This has the exact same behavior as it would if you were to select all the contents of the container and drag them, but faster and easier.
booster best dev confirm?

WHAT IS THIS!!! WHY IS CCP SO GOOD!

All the UI improvements in that devblog are from people in between projects for World of Darkness... the sheer rate of improvements and their individual marginal products are pretty damning about where the programming effort has been going since Incarna started development.
If this keeps up, more and better spaceship fun for everyone seems like the order of the day.

Obv I've never done one myself, perhaps it's really easy already.

Edit: I feel that WoD got the best programers from CCP

What makes bombing runs hard is not dieing and getting a goodwarpin without decloaking each other beforehand. Dropping the bomb when targets are 30km on your overview is pretty easy.

I vote we start an online geurilla warfare operation against WoD, and kill it, forcing these devs back to Eve.

Did you miss when they downsized like 20% of the workforce? It's already dead.

They did that beacuse they needed to refocus the company. they brought in quite a few people to do that.

Yes, and refocusing the company meant basically killing WoD for the forseeable future.

The ui in Eve has always been a huge let-down.

How shall I interpret that? The UI is the tool with which you crush your opponents? Or are you profiting from its inefficiencies?
Despite of that, as far as I can tell from the thread, your success is caused by your strategies and analysis of the game, which you developed.

the new Battle crusiers are going to make class 1 wh's a huge liability. You can put enough firepower to take down a pos in a reasonable timeframe.
speaking of wh's I happen to have a scanner inside one with an offline pos with guns anchored if anyone wants to take one over.

PVP/pirate success, yes.
however people like motbob and kwark and (formerly) myself use the UI to steal other's money. Sometimes people make stupid mistakes and don't catch them in time.
Ex. Someone has stack of item "Y"
They try to sell 1 item "Y" for price 1,000,000 ISK They mess up because they are stupid/went too fast/screwed up thanks to the kinda sucky UI. End up putting entire stack of "Y" on market for the price of 1. motbob buys, makes billions.
edit: I'd also like to note that it's kinda crazy how many people who have never even looked at playing EVE live off of the posts of Hatchery members in this thread. Haha. I don't play at all since I left the hatchery and I still read this thread daily. :p

Pretty sure I never did any analysis to make my isk off the contracts. People were just stupid. Nuff said.
